Unless you somehow make your own pudding using only Induction-legal ingredients (and not a lot of cocoa), the SF chocolate pudding you find in stores is just as nasty as those Atkins bars. The brands I've seen all have modified corn starch and aspartame among the ingredients.

Darn! And I was just gonna say you can have chocolatey stuff.

No, but it's just better to wait until you figure things out.

In case there is something in your menus which might be known for causing others problems why not post in the 'Review my Menu' forum so any potential problem foods can be spotted?

List all your foods incuding quantities and see if anyone has any suggestions.

how many pounds did you lose in your first 14 days on induction?
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

            Re: I need chocolate!!

In my first 14 days of induction I lost 2 lbs and currently have gained one back. I don't want to obsess over the scale but I feel like I need to know if i'm loosing or not so that way if i'm not loosing I can try to figure out why. I'm going to see my dr tomorrow to check my thyroid so we shall see. I hope there is nothing wrong but I do need to get to the bottom of why this is happening. It's been a month since i've started and i've lost 1 pound which isn't normal.

              Re: I need chocolate!!

I am so glad you're going to have your thyroid checked. If you're following the plan with that result, something must be wrong and checking for an underactive thyroid is perfectly logical.

My mother was hypothyroid and she felt strongly I had a sluggish thyroid, convinced me to see a doc in my very early 20s. Back then they didn't treat as readily as many doctors will now. My doctor said I was "borderline" underactive and didn't prescribe a treatment, just told me I needed to stop eating so much. I was rather sensitive and felt ashamed enough I never mentioned my problems controlling weight again until I was over 60.

That's sad. I did keep my weight down until I reached the 50s, but I needed to starve myself to do it. By the time I finally asked a doctor to check again, I had gained a tremendous amount of weight I was unable to lose and was a very miserable, sick, individual. Even after the year+ it took to get my meds right, it took over another year to heal and begin to feel like I could tackle the weight.

I am tackling it now and I will win, but I would so hate to see anyone else go through what I did. Although I thought about asking for thyroid labs a number of times, I immediately told myself to stop making excuses. The shaming lasted over 40 years.

I very much want to encourage you to follow through on this and know for sure.

                Re: I need chocolate!!

To add to this if you really must...Non sweetened cocoa and coconut oil is the best! I don't even use splenda in mine since I like dark chocolate.

For one bar, two teaspoon of coconut oil mixed with one teaspoon of coco. If you want you can add a pk of splenda. Mix well, pour into a little made do container (I like using folded aluminum foil and freeze about 10 mins (depending on thickness). Taste better then the real thing!

BUT I just read that you only lost 2lb in the first 14 days and something is not right. I would look over what you are eating. I know everyone is different but that is really low..meaning you're either adding something you shouldn't, not having enough of what you should or your metabolism is shot. Can you list what you normally eat?

                  Re: I need chocolate!!

I agree with the post above me. I went on induction and lost 15LBS in the 2 week induction. I know EVERYONE is different and will lose differently. 15LBS in 2 weeks made me want to cry because I've tried so many diets in the last 2 years ( since I had my daughter and gained over 70LBS ), but I couldn't lose a darn thing because I couldn't stick to them. When I started the atkins I was ready to stop messing around and get right to business. After 3 weeks I began adding certain things to my diet... i.e. atkins shakes and bars... I found that to be a HUGE NO-NO. I have a very large craving for chocolate, but I realized that if I make something sweet I'll be able to subside that craving. My favorite thing, which has no chocolate but it is wonderful, is half a block of cream cheese, one packet of splenda and half a capful of vanilla extract... mix it up and it tastes like cream cheese filling to a homemade cheese cake. I don't nessicarily eat the whole thing in one sitting. I put the rest in the fridge for later.

Write down what your eating and drinking and how much of it your consuming daily. Once you get a few days of things wrote down, repost them in here so we can see if there is something your eating that may be stalling your weight loss. Make sure your drinking a good amount of water. I HATE water unless it is flavored, but I drink water anyway. One mistake some people go about doing is drinking a tea or some sort of beverage made with water that has little or no calories, carbs, and sodium... to replace their water in take... big mistake because once water is mixed with something else, regaurdless if the drink has little or no calories, carbs or sodium, it changes the entire H20 element and it is no longer considered a water. I don't know how you are with water, but thats just a little helpful input I learned from my brother in law who is a fitness nut.
