  • Need a helping hand please!

Hi everyone. I've been on this WOE since the end of April. I have lost between 15 and 20 lbs. depending on the day and the outfit! I have 3 weeks to go until a major event, my oldest is graduating high school, and I would really like to make the most of the time I have. I belong to a gym, I go about 4-5 times a week and fast walk 3 miles. I have mostly lost in my rear end and my top. I would really, really like to lose some belly fat and maximize the amount of weight I can lose in the next 3 weeks.

I would be so appreciative if anyone who has managed to lose 3-5 lbs. a week consistently would share their menus with me and their exercise regimen. I am super, super motivated, have lots of energy and just need a helping hand to get through to June 15th!

Thank you SO VERY MUCH for anything you are willing to share!!!

Have you tried Pilates/Yoga as a way of toning midriff (especially good if you do a lot of running, as it lengthens the muscles that shorten in your hamstrings etc)? If you can get to 2+ classes a week you'd really feel the difference.

Otherwise, I guess posting your menu would help people see what you currently eat on average, and let you know if there's a way of 'speeding things up'? Perhaps you'll notice it on your measurements as well? Drinking a ton of water should help, and if you haven't already, leaving out caffeine?

Congratulations on your loss so far, and don't worry about rushing things and putting pressure on yourself: you are on the right path, and have done so well already.

you can't spot treat body parts. You can certainly firm and tone the muscle, but fat has to be burned overall with cardio. 3-5lbs consistantly is only something you might see in someone who is very obese and has a lot to lose, and even then it will slow down eventually. safe weight lose is something like 1-2lbs a week, and even then for some of us its slower than that. slow and steady keeps the weight off better, remember that!

personally, I lose kind of weird. I'll lose 4lbs in a week, then nothing for a week or two. or i'll lose 5lbs, then gain 2, over and over. every body has its own rhythm.

Re: Need a helping hand please!

My typical menu is coffee, 2 ounces heavy cream, 2 or 3 splenda, 2 scrambled eggs, 2 pieces bacon, lunch 1 1/2 cups salad greens with 2 or three ounces of roast chicken and 2 TB Maries dressing, boiled egg, dinner 3 ounces meat, some salad greens and a veg. in between I might have a cheese stick. And I drink 12 glasses water/day.

I know you can't spot treat body parts as far as weight loss, but there are exercises that work well for some for abs so thought I 'd ask. And I need to lose a total of like 90 more lbs. so I've got plenty to lose.

Purpose of my post is to reach out to those who have been there and make sure I'm doing everything I can and doing it right.

        Thanks!!

There are plenty of exercises you can do to firm up the stomach area. Pilates and yoga are good classes to take as they work on your core area. Are you familiar with this exercise

And there are plenty of other exercises for abs that you can do like different kind of crunches. So get down on the mat. But start carefully.

Have you tried cutting out caffeine & splenda? They slow some people down. Also make sure there is no sugar in the bacon or salad dressing - sugar won't help

Re: Need a helping hand please!

i know your pain! i was in a CRUNCH to get those last 10 off by my wedding date two summers ago. try not to stress and just do the best you can. you will already look and feel MUCH better than you did to start with!

silly as it sounds, i read someone's tip of using a hula hoop. IT WORKS. i have a 5 pound hula hoop and i use it for 15 minutes at a time (i had to work up to it.) it helps with the flab on my sides and back.

also, when i was in a crunch to lose those last wedding dress inches, i used a program called "slim in 6." i lost a TON of inches. i really did. it toned a lot also. it is a nightmare i tell you especially once you get into the third dvd. but you'll get results.

while i agree that you cant really "spot reduce"....both of these did help me with overall inchces.

                  KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
