  • My tastes r changing (don't read if triggered by food posts)

Hi everyone. I've been "doing" Atkins consistently since 1-14-05. I have tried it before, but it has been a struggle for me, however, since 1-14-05 I decided that I would stick with Atkins, and I have! I've lost 16 pounds, so I'm losing somewhat slowly, but I have lost! And I'm keeping it off.

Anyway the point of my post is that my tastes are finally starting to change. I've started eating things like bell peppers raw, that I wouldn't have done before and they actually taste good! My sister and I went out to dinner on Sat night and my meal came with mashed potatoes that I immediatley gave to her. (Since MP are my fav thing in the whole world, I did allow myself 2 small tastes, but that was it and I got them off my plate, didn't eat the sugar sticks (aka carrots). Instead I ate the chicken, brocolli and side salad and was full and totally satisfied.

She on the other hand had a burger with fries and a chocolate shake! (She did eat the burger without the bun because she knows that Atkins is working for me.)

And I saw her drink the chocolate shake and I was sooo OKAY with it. I had a fleeting moment of mental craving but I ignored that thought and felt great AND I stuck to my WOE. I was very proud of me!

Keep it up Atkineers, this WOE is healthy (and filling) and I wouldn't have traded my yummy meal for her fries anyday.

    Way to go Casey!!

I've noticed the same thing. I've been on this WOE since Nov and I just love salad now. I use to hate it more than once a week. When I do fall off the wagon I really don't enjoy the carbs like I used to. Junk made with flour is soooo pasty! YUCK! I never thought I would ever say that!!! :yikes
    LOL.

    Keep on making good choices!
