  • how many grams?

I have decided to extend my induction because I need to correct some of my eating errors I made in the first 2 weeks. (I lost 7 pounds inspite of the errors). I was eating almonds and drinking coffee, I think this hindered my losing a little bit. Trying new recipes this week. Fried okra in Peanut oil and this made wonderful potatoe chips. Love the "mashed potatoes" made from turnips and cheese. Induction is so much easier the 2nd week. Thanks for all the support.
    Question.
does anyone know approximately how many grams of carbs, eaten at one time, will cause a spike in sugar? Im thinking it differs from person to person but I was wondering if there is a appx. amount?
    Thank you.

I don't know. But it is not just about the grams. It is also about the glycemic index. So some carbs have more of a spiky effects than others (starches sugar - very spiky) - celery not so much. Also you can lower the effect of carbs by eating them with protein or fat.
The glycemic index is made by testing the effect of 50 carbs from the product on humans

      Re: how many grams?

I'd only go up five grams of carbs at a time so you can see the impact the increased carbs on your weight loss. It works this way on OWL. Dr. Atkins did all the heavy lifting and all we have to do is apply his sage advice.

When you are alone in your head, you are in a bad neighborhood.
