  • When is it safe to weigh myself?

Ok so I weighed myself at first and lost some weight the first week. Then stalled (Post induction stall). When is officially 'time' to weigh myself? I don't want to be depressed again with the stalling of my weight loss. Thank you!

BTW, I am in ketosis at all times according to my ketostix.

The only time you need to weigh yourself to discover your resistance to weightloss is after the 14th day of induction. Then you can use your numbers to check your metabolic resistance in the chart in DANDR.

After that it is just a preference thing if you are staying on induction.

However once you move to OWL weighing every week will help you see if adding your extra net carbs is letting you still lose weight and telling you that you have not yet reached the carb level at which you stop losing.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

its safe to do when YOU want to...
i personally am not a scale addict, but also i got by the mirror, and friends and family...

the scale should be there to help, but also there has been proved studies showing that if you do use the scale everyday that it reinforces you to figure out what you did, what you need to do and does help you give yourself more confidence when you see it going down!

      YOU CAN DO THIS!

I have a very uneasy relationship with my scale ~ it taunts me; I hate it.

I weigh only once a week, and then reluctantly. I don't trust it at all.

The only problem with weighing every day is that one's weight tends to fluctuate and people will make changes in their diet based on overnight fluctuations. That is not a long enough time frame.

I personally don't own a scale nor do I plan to. I judge progress by stomach definition and butt reduction. It's not science, but it's all that I really care about. Recently I went to the doctor for a check up and found out that I had only lost about 18 pounds over the past 4 months or so. But my doctor COMPLETELY didn't recognize me and was constantly congratulating me on my "weight" loss.

Weight loss should be measured by your level of confidence... nothing more, nothing less.
