Well i went and ran on Monday and now i'm feeling sick again. I have finally told myself i cant run until i'm 100% and right now i'm still about 60% well. So i was wondering if anyone does Pilates. I have the Windsor Pilates and was going to be starting it tonight (if possible) lol! I was just wanting to see if anyone had any success doing it.

It is the most intense thing I've ever tried. I've been a swimmer and a weight trainer. Pilates focuses on your 'core muscles' or the muscles in your torso. It is fantastic exercise, and has the advantage of when you get worn out you are at home, not out in the neighborhood somewhere....
I'll be starting it in a month or so to tighten and tone my belly and back muscles. Weights do well for arms and legs, but aren't as good for the misection as pilates, I think.

Hey I love pilates but some of the tapes are hard. i suggest looking up Crunch burn and firm pilates with Ellen. It is not all floor work most of it is leg and core work but you stand up and you use 2-3lb weights. Also crunch has another pilates with her and it isn't too difficult. I have other tapes of pilates and I just can not do a lot of the floor work.

Pilates works!
Why shelf csomething that already showed you it works. Your sore tummy muscles means that it's working. If it's working, why stop? I don't get it! The more you do the easier it will be. Don't shelve it...keep doing it!
It's low energy, no sweeting, it's isolation movements so it concentrates on the core muscles unlike running, treadmill, etc.

I'm shelving for now because I cannot do it. Not because it's just a little hard. Good lord the beginning tape had me practically doing splits in the air. It is ridiculous to continue a workout that is injuring me. My abs were more than a little sore. Please don't judge my workout unless you know me. I do yoga, weight training, aerobics and many other things. I am aware of what workout pain as opposed to injury is. Pilates just isn't for me at this point in my training.Originally posted by nataliejc34Pilates works!

I was just going to add that windsor pilates is a whole lot different than the crunch pilates. I can not do the windsor pilates and I do tae bo everday but still can not get through windsor. I just can't get through some of the moves. I have been exercising for over 6 months everday with Sundays off. Good luck with it though.
