  • Feeling very smug & proud of myself!(food refs!)

Just wanted to share this with you all.....

we had my nannies 80th bday party this week, as a family we were doing all the catering so I was prepared for the party food in advance - I had baked salmon (i made a huge morrccan cous cous with roasted veg) but just had the veg with a spicy homemade dressing, some ham & chicken. Lots of water! we were at the party for a total of 8 hours (set up/ close down etc..) so it was a long day... but I busied myself by clearing up, making drinks for guests etc.. then I had the job of cutting up 8 GORGEOUS MASSIVE CHEESCAKES!!!!! (these are my most fave desserts ever!) in every flavour... oh it was such a test of will power.... but I did it! not a lick or dab even! I was on a roll then, and cut up nannies fruit cake... rich and covered in marzipan & thick icing! OMG! I sliced it all up and shifted it out to the guests..... I treated myself to a de-caf tea with cream and splendar.........
My biggest achievement yet...... how smug am I?!!!!

Not gonna get to cocky.... a way to go yet!!! feeling positive xx
This site really helps xx THANK YOU ALL xxx

I'm so happy to hear someone didn't plan a "cheat" day because it was a special occassion!!!! Good for you - in the long run that day will make you stronger and able to fight any temptation.

Keep up the good work and take awhile to be smug!! You deserve it.

Very well done!!! And you will feel better the next day and the next day when you truly realize what the potential for weight gain may have been and you made it!!!

Somedays, this board has helped me more than anyone will ever know. After all, how often do we sign on and see someone who didn't avoid the carbs because they didn't prepare, didn't want to, didn't know how to say no and then they want to know why they aren't losing weight and why their weight went up.

                  Great post!
