:sadblinky I had to share this with everyone, I'm not embarrassed just a little bent outta shape. The scale I was using, grant it that it was old you know the dial type, it was pretty roughed up and rusty. It told me/lied to me that my starting weight was 230. Well, as time progressed in induction I noticed if I got on and off of it, it would tell me 3 different weights, so naturally I went with the lowest (so much for wishful thinking). So, I bought myself a digital one and whoa my weight was totally off way more than what I thought was my starting. I figured it out that my weight was much higher when I started. I had to be like 250-260lbs and didn't even know it, I mean dang!! I have to start over my fitday weight, and my little ticker thingy. Oh well, I did lose 3" on my waist (and it hasn't been a month yet), grant it I haven't been exercising on my machine just walking around more than usual, and I'm very tired afterwards, after a nap I'm pretty much okay. Everyone has noticed a difference in my face, on how much slimmer it is and even a jacket that I couldn't pull together I can now zip up (its snug though, not loose). But how could I have not known that my weight was waaay up there? I thought I was looking pretty good there and now this (well I knew I was still looking fat, tee hee hee.) I won't let this stop me, I've invested too much time and effort into this to give up now. I know I MUST get on my machine, and make the time a commitment even though I just moved into my new place and things are still in boxes in my machines way, I've been working on it (gotta throw away a lot of crap that is). Oh well, I thought I might share this with everyone because as they say: "Secrets make you sick!" and I must continue this :guns fight to my very last breath. Thanks for listening. P.S. I haven't cheated since I started, I haven't had the desire to, and I'm in Ketosis daily from pink to purple.

I don't trust scales. You want to know why? I went through a 6 month period of time where the scale didn't show any real movement. It would be down a few pounds one week, up a few pounds the next week. BUT in that 6 month time frame I lost 3 dress sizes!!!!!!

So scales are evil. Go by your measurements and how your clothes feel on you. Even Dr. Atkins wrote in the book that inches lost represent your fat cells empyting of fat.

      So scales are evil.

I have been in your place. I had a digital scale and it was always giving me different weights, like 2 seconds apart. Sooooo I went and got a regular scale. It hasn't moved yet but it is not giving me 3 different weights in 2 seconds. So I don't worry about it too much. My scale was off by 10 lbs, but that is ok. It's all relative really

How do you FEEL?? that is the question

I'm experiencing the same thing. I use the scale at my gym and it doesn't tell me any different from 215 even though I've been doing this for over 3 weeks. Yesterday I go to my doctor and they weighed me and I was 210 with my clothes on! I was there for my annual, so when the nurse left so I could get nekkie, I stepped on the scale again and it read 202 lbs! Tomorrow when I get paid I'm getting me a scale - you know, for a 3rd opinion - and I'm going from there.

I'f I'm really at 202 that means I've lost 13 lbs in 3 weeks... trying not to get to overexcited here, but damn tomorrow needs to come!

Thanks yall, the scale is a trip. This diet is cool and all but now I feel like damn if I do damn if I don't. I'm in Ketosis but upset :raving about how much I really was initially and I'm wondering about how much I really lost in the first 14 days, shoot!! But I can't turn back now. I need to read DANDR tonight. Can anyone suggest a chapter for me concerning what I'm going through??

I have a Heathometer Precise that says it is a doctor quality scale, but when I get on the scale at my doctor's office, it says I weigh more. I once went into three different scales in three different rooms in the doctors office each scale gave a different reading! I say go with how your clothes fit or use a measuring tape!

Good for you on not giving up whanyou found your start weight was higher than you thought :hug

But looking on the bright side - when you are at goal you will be able to boast of an extra 20 pounds or more lost!!

And no-one ever sees your weight or knows it unless you tell them - all they see is you shrinking!!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Scales lie; clothes do not. Measure your success in how your clothes fit.

Nikki- I know exactly how you feel i had one of the old dial scales and it was hard for me to see a 2lb loss or so -
so i went and got a digital one and there was a 10lb difference, so what i am doing now isi decided well, if this is my true weight then i was 272 not 262 when i started and then that would mean right now im 193.5 not 183.5, but i am going by the lower on beacause that its what i started with 262 when i first started aAtkins, so remember reguardles of your start weight you have still lost the same amount of weight - say if you've lost 30 lbs then you may weigh a bit more then that but hte thing is is thta you stil lsot those 30lbs whether you are at one weight or not... good luck and stay positive go by the inital scale cuz thats what you started with and it may not be accurate as far as what the true weight is but it doesnt lie as far as what youve dropped..
                          ORIGINALLY STARTED:
                          9/1/04
AT 272 AND BY 7/1/05 WAS AT
                          181
