  • --The Sugar Shakes??--

:help This is day 25 for me of Induction. Today I'm experiencing the Sugar Shakes for the first time since in induction. Is this normal after all this time? I was a Sugar-Addict, I always chose candy/sweet stuff before I would chose a meal, and I would wash it all down with something sweet to drink. My body is aching inside, can someone please tell me why after all these days now? How can I deal with it? Plus I have NOT cheated once, I promise, not even Splenda has touched my lips.

    Thanks

Could it be that your blood sugar got out of whack by something? Maybe eating a lot of salad/veggies - even though not over your allotment for the day - in one sitting? Maybe it raised your blood sugar and that's what's causing the craving?? Are you eating enough?

It could've been the veggies. I've been sauting them lately, along with green onions. Well, I guess I'll be craving all night then because I just ate some broccoli. But, my Ketones are dark on the stick. I think too that I'm feeling kinda down about the scale. It lied to me, and I feel like damn!! But, now this sugar craving thing is getting on my last nerve.

That's my question too, are you eating enough and not going more than 6 hours between snacks or meals?

When I would have a low blood sugar episode, it had nothing to do with any sugar I had ingested, it had everything to do with not eating often enough. I'd get the sweats, the shakes, and even vision problems.

Thanks Sassy and Moochie. I guess I have been going past the 6 hour mark. I don't force myself to eat in the morning, so I wait until the afternoon. No, thats not cool. I'm wondering if I should re-start my Induction or what? I'm not too happy right now :no . My other post today can explain why too.

            you really are doing good.
it took me months to getbthe hang of this, i kept making mistakes and went pretty much for the whole first month without losing weight.

so now you know, and knowing is half the battle
for me whenever i start craving, waaaaaanting, i ask myself when was the last time I ate, and it usually turns out I'm just hungry. once you get to the point of hunger, it's harder to correct than if you had kept snacking all along.

so, back on the horse, and I promise it will look better in a few days...

I don't think you need to restart your Induction, just pull up your socks and make the necessary changes.

I was NOT ever a breakfast person...I'd get gaggy at the thought of eating in the morning, but I'm a convert now! :yes I really feel like I'm energized when I fuel up in the morning. It gets your metabolism going and thats important when it comes to weight loss.

It doesn't have to be anything huge...just a boiled egg, or a turkey rollup, or a bite of last nights dinner leftovers. Have snacks through the morning if your job allows you to.

I have to chime in and ask you if you are drinking enough water? Being dehydrated can give you the shakes! Sometimes when you feel like your hungry but you shouldn't be, your body is really craving liquids! I have never been big on eating breakfast until now, when I get up in the morning the first thing I do is drink two glasses of cold water, it settles my stomach and takes away that gaggy feeling I can get at breakfast time.

for tonight eat something high fat now and that should help counter any sugar reaxction you got going on.

Not easting so long has you in a low blood sugar situaltion and your body like any other person in that situation is reacting.

Have a nice high fat low carb breakfast wehn you get up

did you know eating actually raisies your body's metabolism?

                  Happy low carbing.

Yep, I ate some eggs, butter and cheese this morning. All of you have made me feel so much better :sympathy thanks, your girl was in pain and I did cheat, I ate a bowl of cereal with milk last night, then I felt like doo-doo, but I went to sleep got over it and started myself a journal here, because like the saying goes: "SECRETS KEEP YOU SICK!" I appreciate the support, you guys mean so much to me here. As far as eating raising my metabolism 2big, I didn't know that. I know I need to read more in depth DANDR and more than anything get on my elliptical (I'm a procrastinator @ times) But yep, the water thing, I didn't drink as much as I usually do. I think that could've been a part of it too.
