  • Third week of induction: minimal weight loss??

    Hello Everyone,

I am looking for help because I am on my third week of induction and have lost 3lbs..

    For diagnosis I have been doing the following: keeping a food/work out journal, tracking nutrition on Fitday.com, 15-20 grams of carbs a day, 1600-1800 cal/day, 5 to 6 meals/day, 5 days of excersise/wk, 0 cheating, 1gallon of water/day/mon-fri, no alcohol, take multi vit/fish oil/thermogenic.

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly apperciated.

How tall are you? How much do you weigh? What is your goal weight? Are you male or female? How old are you?

        To all,

I am male, 32, currently weigh 218 and want to reach 190, and I am 5'11.

A typical day's meal would resemble the following:
5-7 AM thermogenic follwed by breakfast 45-60 mins later
breakfast: 3-4 pcs bacon, eggs w/cheese, purple oninon, and tomatoes in 6-7oz serving size
2000mg fish oil and 2 gnc multi vitamins

        5-8 cups black coffee

Lunch: Libby Vienna Sausages with pork rinds(15-25) or celery w/tuna salad

mid afternoon: salad w/2tbsp of dressing or atkins shake

post work out: 8oz protein shake 8g carbs

dinner: fish or beef patties with a iduction friendly veg

1gallon water usually consumed by lunch with continuing intake throughout the day

        Hopefully this helps.

        Thanks,

5-8 cups??? That seems like a lot...is it decaf?

I'm not sure how thermogenic supplements affect weight loss with Atkins. The protein shake and Atkins shake are not allowed during Induction according to Dr. Atkins 2002 DANDR. Shakes are pushed on the commercial Atkins website as they are in the business of making money, however many of Dr. Atkins principles have been scrapped in favor of that quest.

Geez, your stats look good though. I wonder if moving into OWL would help? You don't have a tremendous amount of weight to lose but I'm wondering if you have enough fuel for your body with your workouts. Hopefully some of our exercise enthusiasts and bodybuilders will be by to offer some suggestions. Sorry I wasn't much help.

i am no genius, but.. im close to you in size and all now after my success with atkins, but im at a loss ...
did you go through any cravings of anything?

*on a side note: i think you shoul be okay with the coffee as its one of the things that i never cut out myself
