  • What's with the cravings???

    So it's my TOM next week so I'm PMSing majorly and I'm wondering if that might have something to do with these crazy cravings because I want to dive head first into a bowl of fruit salad. At least I'm not craving junk food, just high carb fruit! They had donuts in the break room this morning and the smell grossed me out from all the grease mixed with sugary sweetness. Ugh. I've been doing so well for over a month now, no cheating (except during the first week when I had sugar free low carb candy because I didn't know any better and maybe going overboard on diet soda every now and then) but I've been really good about the right amount of veggies, cheese, dressing, etc. so I'm kind of scared I'll shoot myself in the foot and fall off the wagon. This is the longest I've ever even been able to change my eating habits. I guess I'm kind of freaked out because this is the first time since the first couple of days of induction that I've had to deal with cravings. Any suggestions on how to ride them out or to curb them?

    PS I also gained 4 lbs (of water I'm hoping)! TOM sucks!!!! Being I haven't cheated, is it safe to assume those are from TOM??

    Yes TOM is an issue for many of us. But it comes around once a month so we have to develop strategies to deal with it. I succumb to a few legal things. And make peace with myself. Pickles, whipped cream, and pumpkin and cream cheese. Those help me a lot.
    So you have to device your own strategy through the cravings and beat this monster. And yes not a good idea to weigh yourself. Bloating is so normal. I put on around 4-5 lbs. Comes off fine once it is over.

      I can not tell you what your post means to me. I fell off the wagon right before my TOM last month, I gained weight and I was just feeling bad and so that caused me to eat. Now that explains all that for me! I wonder if that happens to a lot of women and they get discouraged and quit.

      GOOD INFO. We should sticky that up somewhere because it is not in the book, at least I couldn't find it, and I really looked!
