  • Finished Week Five

    Hi All,
Today I begin week 6 of Induction. I have lost 21#, and have lost 6” in my stomach. I have taken starting measurements overall, but have only re-measured my stomach so far, since that is my worst feature of my weight.
I am very happy with my loss, and have had only very rare cravings. I am too busy grocery shopping, cooking food, and cleaning up afterwards to have time for cravings!!!LOL! I have been exercising most days except for a stretch last week when I was feeling a bit weak and dizzy, but that has gone away now. I drink 80+ ounces of water a day and take my multivitamin and several other supplements as well. I am feeling great!
I have been on WW about 100X and although it seems to be a “balanced diet” and I lost weight, slowly, I was always hungry, and could never stay cheat free.
On Atkins, I can almost say I have been cheat free except for 1 thing…The worst I have done is…everyone please forgive me…I have sometimes had too many Group 2 veggies!!! I know, I am a bad girl. I will try to do better!
And the other comment I wanted to share was that I don’t feel the need for “Motivation”. This all just feels right, and I know this time I will be successful.
(The only other time I tried Atkins was in 2004 with a friend from work, and I really didn’t stay on it for more than a few weeks because it was too hard with the type of job I had and my work hours to eat the proper foods and to eat often enough. So it wasn’t a problem with the diet, it was a difficult scenario to eat proper foods of any kind…It’s a long story. And that is in the past)

    Re: Finished Week Five

Wow, Those are good comments for me to hear. I am still having a little cravings, but not too bad. I should measure myself soon, so I can see the difference on paper.
I do miss an alcoholic drink here and there, but eventually I guess I will get there. We were at a family party Saturday and I sure would have liked a small cocktail, but at least there was tons of Atkins friendly food, lots of veggies and fish and chicken! My kind of Atkins Food!

Well done, Mary I am so glad to hear that it feels right for you, and you are not having too many problems keeping on track

Only on Atkins would someone feel the need to confess they had 'cheated' by eating too many non-starchy veggies!!! Of course if you move to the first rung of OWL you can add 5 net carbs without cheating and even stay on that rung while adding even more of them!!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!
