  • lemon and lime?

    Says add a little Lemon or Lime juice!

    Is this bottled or fresh?

    why are these fruits ok for induction?

    And yes i am slightly dense on sundays

    At a guess:

    • Because some citrus is important to health (nobody wants scurvy)
    • Because lemons and limes have fewer carbs than other fruits. (At a quick glance: 15 net carbs per cup vs. 31 for bananas, 17 for an orange, 20 for kiwi)
    • Because lemons and limes have vastly less sugar than other fruits (I suspect this is the really important part - it's the basis for why other fruits are forbidden on Induction.)
    • Because nobody eats a whole lemon, whereas most people eat a whole orange or banana.
    • Because the intake is very limited - it's used as a garnish, not as a food you may eat.

      I don't know why they are allowed. They are great for adding taste to water, salads, food generally. Maybe that is why they are allowed. There are limits to how much though. I always use fresh but I assume if the bottled ones are not full of strange chemicals they would be fine.
