  • Those Carbs Creep Up On You

    URG.

Thought I was doing really well until I plugged my food for the day into Fitday after lunch.

28 CARBS! Now, only 24 of them were net carbs, but STILL! And I haven't even had dinner yet.

So, needless to say I will be having eggs for dinner.

I hate how they creep up....I should have known those sauteed onions tasted too sweet to be ok.

Cutting out onions is going to be hard...maybe I'll just reduce the amount. ( I could eat 2-3 whole sauteed onions in one sitting if only it were legal)

What puts you all over that edge? What do you have a hard time controlling?

I can usually manage breakfast and lunch just fine ~ head into dinner having used only 10-11 carbs...then all **** breaks loose at night. LOL

my dinner recipes tend to be carbier and the munchies invariably kick in later on...

Till you get a handle on how many carbs you are eating regularly maybe use your fitday account to plan the day's meals in advance instead of after you have eaten?
I used to play with my options the evening before when I started using fitday on induction to allow me to work out whether to have more or less of anything to make the numbers work out.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Uhhmmm....I just ate a whole can of black olives.
In the past I had a major problem with binge eating, but haven't really had any trouble since starting Atkins, at least until today.
Even with the olives, I'm still at only 18 carbs for the day, but obviously eating a whole can doesn't fit into the daily allowance!
        {note to self....no more olives should come into the house....}
        Started 8/31/09: 235.8lbs.
        9/29/09: 227.0
        10/13/09: 224.0 (yes, it's slow, but it's still happening!)
        Goal: 140 lbs. AND...
I'd like a regular bath towel to fit all the way around me.
I'd like to be able to fit into clothes bought at a regular store, not a store for "large women".
I'd like to go on the annual rafting trip with my kids, confident that if I get tossed out of the raft into the river, I'll be able to hoist my backside back in with a minimum of embarasment!

When I was in induction I had to watch tomato sauce/paste and onions carefully. That gets alot easier on OWL I did plan my meals before I ate them (still do) so I didn't go over my limits.

Oh, stupid things get me. The rotissere chicken shot up with sugar. Bad sauce on a hotwing. And today it was a peice or two of imitation crab. I looked it up because it tasted so sweet. About 16 carbs in 2.5 ozs. Luckily I didn't eat 2 ozs of it. As I said, its the stupid stuff that gets me. Everytime I try to eat something that isn't a whole real food, I mess up or miss something in the ingredients list. If I buy it fresh and cook it myself, I do alright.

My starting weight was 235 lbs and I'm trying to get to 130 lbs.

            1st mini goal: 145! met 12/09
            2nd mini goal: 140!
            3rd mini goal:135!
            4th mini goal: 130!

I drink coffee. I drink when I am thirsty. I am just a low carber. Not on Atkins at all!!! He has everything to do with my weightloss and nothing to do with it, depending on who you ask.
