Re: Are nuts ok on extended induction?
Olivia, since you have 40 lbs left to lose and you are not metabolically resistant (from your previous posts), I would suggest you move to OWL. The last 5-10 lbs should be lost in Pre-Maintenance, so you have about 30 lbs left for OWL. Despite what some people believe, climbing the Carbohydrate Ladder, finding your CCLL and testing new foods takes more than a few weeks.
Now you are eating up to 20 net carbs, with most of them coming from vegetables. To move to OWL Rung 1, you will add 5 net carbs of vegetables to your current menu. Those veggies will do you good."Get action. Seize the moment. Man was never intended to become an oyster."

Re: Are nuts ok on extended induction?
Why are you hurrying to lose the weight? If you don't learn how to maintain once you're at goal, getting there is absolutely pointless. Not to mention the frustration of gaining the weight back... OWL teaches us tools without which maintaining is, if not impossible, at least terribly difficult.Originally posted by myquest2shine View PostBut how much weight would I lose on an average (per week)doing OWL rung1? I lost a total of 8lbs. on induction...
No one can predict your weight loss rate in OWL Rung 1 or in OWL Rung 9. I've seen people who lose better in OWL Rung 1 than they did on Induction, but this is not a promise that your experience will be the same.
You started with 50 lbs to lose and lost 8 during your 14-day Induction. It means you've lost 16% of the weight you needed to lose. This shows you have a low degree of metabolic resistance; one more reason to move to OWL.
Before you start OWL, check the sticky threads in the OWL forum: Ongoing Weight Loss (OWL) - Atkins Diet
Were you able to order DANDR 2002 from Amazon or eBay?"Get action. Seize the moment. Man was never intended to become an oyster."

Re: Are nuts ok on extended induction?
Hi Georgiana! yeah you're right.. I got what you mean. Reaching my goal is pointless if I don't know how to maintain it. I'll be switching to owl after my birthday(Oct. 25)..I've already started and I'm on the 2nd day of my extended induction. I guess I'm just over excited with my weight loss cause for years, I've been going around in circles searching for the perfect diet.. and I'm glad I found it!
I still don't have a copy of DANDR2002 that's why I'm relying on you guys...but chinadoll told me to be patient coz she's gonna send me one as soon as she gets back home....so excited to read DANDR2002

Yup, I will bring it back in Jan and mail it out. I looked for one for you in Hong Kong this week but there are none to be had in the bookstores.

Sticky threads are called that because they are "stuck" at the top of the thread list so they don't get lost in all the other threads. It allows important threads to be found easily.
