    Re: Office Breakfast?

    Nemo....deep breath Ready?

OWL is scary. Yup. Especially if you haven't done it before (raises hand) but with so little left to lose you really should work your way towards that. Many people find that they continue to lose just as much weight or more as they move into OWL phases. Doing induction for extended periods can wreak havoc on your body and cause stalls (raises hand again - 3 weeks and counting). Perhaps tackling OWL would be fun and give you even MORE options for breakfasts!?!

Now, as for my personal suggestions:

    Egg Salad
    Omlette w/ cheese and sausages
    Meatballs
    Bacon
    Quiche
that Egg Shake the person above you was talking about (YUM!)
    tuna salad

Now, I personally make all this stuff ahead of time and put in single serving containers so its easy to grab in the morning.

    Hope that helps!

        Why?

Can't you add more vegetables at dinner?

If you don't find the egg shake appealing, then don't. Me ... never had one myself!

Try the egg shake - many people think they will not like it but actually love it. I like shakes myself. Lots of stuff you can do with them

Definitely try it. I thought it sounded GROSS, but I am SO glad I tried it. It doesn't taste like eating raw eggs. You can make it just like any ice cream shake you want actually. I used a tablespoon of peanut butter and a tablespoon of cocoa with it last week--HEAVENLY! And that's the great thing about OWL--more choices!

Believe me, I was scared too. Turns out that my body likes veggies a LOT though and I've been losing steadily since starting OWL.

And if you don't like OWL or think you're not losing as quickly, you can always go back to induction for awhile.

I think the "big thing" about saying you are or aren't on a certain phase of Atkins is that you should really follow ANY diet to the letter or you're really not "on it." I was eating extra veggies, so I stopped pretending I was on extended induction and moved to OWL rung 1.

            Try the shake!

            Heres how I do mine:
3-4 eggs (I find that the more eggs I use, the less hungry I am, and the less sweetner I need)
            1 T heavy cream
            1/2 to 1 C water (I just eyeball it)
            1 packet Splenda (or Stevia)
1 tsp vanilla or maple extract
1/4 cup pumpkin (canned, don't accidentally buy the pie filling)
            big dash of cinnamon
            handful of ice cubes

I'm planning to have this for my Thanksgiving dessert too!

Here's what I do: in my coffee cup, 2 eggs, bit of cream cheese, dried onion, salt pepper. Microwave carefully, stirring often - don't overcook or you'll be eating styrofoam. I actually stop when it's still 'loose' since the heat in the cup cooks it. This is by far the best office microwave atkins-friendly breakfast in a cup. Then there's 'muffin in a minute' (google it).

Um ... rather than cooking in styrofoam ... you might want to consider bringing in a real ceramic mug.

Making tea in styrofoam is a known carcinogen ... it might be better to avoid using it as much as possible.

Plus, it's not very ecological to use it!

Um... you didn't read my post correctly - I did not say to cook the eggs in a styrofoam cup. I said if you OVERCOOK them then it will be like you're eating styrofoam. (It was intended to be a funny comment, not an invitation to be un-ecological.)
