      What is The Gold Standard???
Below is what I could find in the board archive about the "Gold Standard" diet people here were referring to.

      Pure foods!!
unprocessed meats, eggs, salt, unprocessed veggies, fresh or frozen, olive oil, fresh herbs if any and lots of water. So you see I have cut it to the bone to get the answers I need.
So I have cut all dairy, dried spices, nuts

Some folk need more and do the KISS and use the antifungals either from their doc or natural along with probiotics and give up dairy products too.

Then stubborn cases need the gold standard. Those folk use the probiotics, the antifungals and have to give up all foods that might be contaminated, like dried herbs and spices... all fermented foods, as they have yeast in them... all dairy, as yeast feeds on lactose nicely. You can start with the Gold Standard plan and know you are doing it, or you can start with Induction and see if you need help killing off your yeast infestation.

For your veggies, you only want to consume lower carb ones, so limit tomatoes & onions or out them entirely. Green onions are ok. Your meats look just fine. Remember to stick to fresh meats instead of processed ones such as sausage & bacon.

Apple cider vinegar is fine for KISS, not fine for GS.

You can also start taking supplements to help fight the yeast. Garlic pills (in addition to eating fresh ones), oil of oregano, etc. Then there's the probiotics, too.

For example, with the GS diet, you have to watch the type of carbs as well as how many carbs you consume at one sitting. Onions are a no-no as is cheese. As a cheese-lover, this is so difficult!

The Gold Standard diet used to be explained on this website: www.conniems.com/antiyeast.html
      But it's down now...

My advice is that you start with strict KISS and go from there.

Below is an excerpt from Connie's website (from atkinsalltheway.com):
If your losses don’t resume [by doing KISS], or resume but at some point before reaching goal you stall again for a long time (again, with no cheating!), the next step is to eliminate the few yeast promoting foods remaining in your KISS diet. I call this a Gold Standard lowcarb diet.

This will likely be all you need to continue to lose. When close to goal, then you *might* carefully try, one-at-a-time, trial-and-error, reintroducing lowcarb yeast promoting foods to see if they still bother you.

Georgiana, thanks! I appreciate you looking into it.

We started with the candida diet this weekend and while it is definitely hard we are starting to feel better already. Made sure we filled the house with meats and eggs that are organic and not treated with hormones and anti-biotics, we have a little mozzerella cheese as Atkins says it it ok, and we've eliminated all our yeast-creating foods which was MUCH harder than we thought. One day down, another 13-20 to go.
