  • day 1 extended induction

    hi everyone.

i decided to do the induction process for another 2 weeks. I did lose 10# within the last two weeks i think i might have lost more if i hadnt of gotten sick. but im really happy with 10# regardless!! my pants are loser, i can see a difference in my stomach rolls when i look in the mirror. i had energy through that dreadful flu. Im still tired, and nauseated, but im getting through. I'm hoping to get on the Wii tonight for at least 20 mins, i probaby wont do the biggest loser program yet, i'll do the wii fit for sure. I re-read the induciton chapter lastnight, read the carb count for onions--HOLY CARBS BATMAN!!! makes sense since they are sweet, but i was still shocked

i put a bra on today that used to be tight around, and now it fits properly!! my closet has been getting a good cleaning too because as i try something on, if it's too big, i've been giving it away.

    Welcome to extended induction Tracy.
    Nice to have you here.
Congratulations on losing 10 lbs. That is super.
Yes onions are carby. Happen to be my favourite vegetable too (and garlic)

congrats tracy - 10# is very good. I've been doing the same with my clothes, brought up all the boxes from the basement - found a whole new wardrobe, how cool is that.

If you want onion flavor without the carbs, try leeks.

I really only use them in tomato soup or in the Cauliflower Leek Puree recipe that is in the back of DANDR.

Chives or spring onions (green onions) are another less carby way to add an oniony taste to recipes.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
