  • How will the menopause and being premenstrual effect weight ?

I am now 11 days into induction. I lost 6 lb in the first week but I am due a period and haven't lost an ounce this week. I am feeling really negative at the moment. I never know now when I am going to start so I keep hoping that I will and my weight loss will show. On the brighter side I do feel better in myself, but still craving !!! Any advise anyone. I need some reassurance that this is going to work if I persevere!
    Thanks everyone x

    >>I am due a period and haven't lost an ounce this week.>>

That's fairly common ... and likely normal.

    >> need some reassurance that this is going to work if I persevere!>>

Ah ... there's the rub. None of us can look into the future!

    >>On the brighter side I do feel better in myself,>>

    That's positive, right?

Think about the other aspects of Atkins ... let the weight loss be the pleasant side effect.

It will work. Just try to develop this way of eating as a habit and a permanent change, not just another "diet", and you'll feel a lot better emotionally.

Weight loss is not linear and you will lose weight in spurts. And if you stick to it, you WILL lose weight, you WILL become a lot healthier, and you can't ask for more than that.

Are you peri menopausal or menopausal.

I am still peri and I lost my weight fine. Not super quick but at this time in my life "what's the hurry"
And no matter how old a person is - it is very normal not to lose a gram in week two or three so that is certainly nothing to worry about

If you have a thyroid issue you may want to increase carbs and move to OWL when you hit your 14 days. Some thyroid people lose better with more carbs.

          Omg I hate TOM.
I lost just fine but my cravings spike and I eat way too much and bloat SO bad. Sometimes I'll gain like 10 lbs.. I have learned to not sweat it cuz it'll come off after a few days and always then some.
Everybody is different, just let your body do it's thing. Like Skeptika said, weightloss is not linear. Give your body time to do it's thing.
