  • Need help with Vacation Foods- Going to Disney

We are taking a 6 day trip to Disneyland starting Sunday. Our hotel room will have a small fridge and a microwave.

We plan on doing our grocery shopping when we get there. I plan on eating breakfast in the room, will bring lunch into the park and probably eat dinner in the room and will need some snack ideas too.

Could you all help me with induction friendly foods I should bring. I really don't feel like eating at McD's every day.

    Thanks in advance.

P.S. If anybody knows where to find the Turkey Legs at Disney, please let me know.

    Thanks,
    Wendy

If you have a small frig and a microwave, I think you're set

You might want to sneak a George Foreman grill and an electric coffee pot in there too. The Foreman Grill you can grill meat and veggie. The coffee pot you can boil eggs.

I would buy a dozen or so eggs, some fresh vegetables, cheese, a small jar of mayo, a small container of heavy cream, if you are on the OWL phase or Pre-Maintenance you can buy fruit/nuts/whatever else is appropriate for your phase. You might want to look in the deli section of the supermarket for rotissiere chicken or turkey breast.

This is the BEST hot cereal recipe I've ever come across. Taste-wise, texture-wise, appearance-wise. It's the best and it's Induction friendly. If you are on OWL or Pre-Maintenance, you can jazz it up with chopped nuts and fresh fruit.

It uses dry ingredients that can be easily carried and stored.

I just had a 5 day vac in fla and we dd have a hotppate as well..so i was able to make omlettes...but you could make omlettes/scrambled eggs in a mcrowave as well as mock danish? I bought precooked packaged chicken . tysson's brand - breasts, legs and wings had them for lunch dinner each day..they were great! I bought a couplf of bags of premade salad and dressing, cream cheese, cheddar cheese and some low carb deli meats, mayo and tuna salad.

I'm not sure if your flyng there...but i'd also recommend bringing some safe snacks on teh plane..was a lifesaver for me! my flight ddn't offer complimentary meals, and the ones you had to pay for were sandwches and muffins!

The tuna in the sealed packages (not cans) was great when I was in SD. Just put some mayo and cheese in the frig then I could fix tuna for dinner instead of eating out.

            What I would do is...

eat a large breakfast out somewhere, then have a snacky type lunch of cheese or lunch meat, then have an early dinner out. Disney has great restaurants and you should be able to find grilled chicken, etc.
