  • Completed 30 days of induction

Hi everyone. I completed 30 days of induction. I lost 12 lbs, and hopefully most of it is fat! I am proud of myself, because after so many attempts, finally I made it so far...
Last year, in Jan, I was 158 lbs, but I stopped eating right, and stopped exercising and gained more than 32 lbs! I am back to working out and I have completed a month on Atkins so far. I haven't cheated once. I really enjoy my food. Unlike other diets that make me think constantly about food, this way of eating gives me so much variety and flexibility. I am feeling much better, and my cravings are under control. The only thing I really miss is my morning coffee with creamer. I don't like the taste of de caf coffee with cream. I'd rather not drink any..
My sister in law visited me today and brought me a shirt in size XL... I really appreciate her thoughtfullness, but I was really hurt.. I was never an XL. Until 6 years ago, I was a sixe 8-10 US. Pregnancy, hypothyroidism plus the fact that I have an autistic child all made me gain 50 lbs that I have been struggling to lose for the past 5 years. But this time, I am determined more than ever to lose the weight.. I will hang this gift somewhere I can see, so that It reminds me to work out harder to reach my goal.
Thanks everyone for your support.. Reading your posts, and knowing I am not alone is a big motivation...

Fayeza, just the T-shirt to sleep in, they are great
Congrats on your first month, and I would think it's time to move up some, add some nuts and see how that goes.

congrats on your great start. Are you answering the questions in chapter 13 of your DANDR to know when you should move to OWL better known as the great food experiment? you will want to spend a lot of time in that phase so you can have a good knowledge of what foods effect your appetite, your craving controls and your weightloss. You also get to put into practice many of the techniques we need to be life timew goalies of what to eat when going out how and how to make low carb party foods from all the lower glycemic foods availible.

Enjoy your success on extended induction but don't stay too long cause it is the practice in OWL and premaintnenace that allows us to be life long goalies living in our house of atkisn with the great induction foundation and the OWL walls with the premaintnenace roofing. Hard to stay long in a house with just a foundation.
