Re: not losing
3 months wow did you check out chapter 15 of your DANDR?
are you still working out as much if not more then youwere before?
have you checked your carbs counts for any hidden carbs ?
have you checked your vits and minerals from your foods and supplements to make sure you aren't deficient. forexample lacking Calcium will cause a chemical to be released from your parathyroid that will interfer with your thyroid hormones and slow your metabolism.
have you ruled out a medical issue like low thyroid? I know my loss stalled every time you levels got too low.
have you checked your foods to be sure you are not over eating your atkins legal foods?by the book atkinseer

Have you had your menu checked with some of the members here? Maybe there is something you can do to improve it.

Re: not losing
I wonder if you breastfeeding has something to do with it - hormones working against you eating low carb. Now I know it may have works for others but maybe your road will be slower.
Do you have a link to where you posted your menu? Are you still eating the same.
Hang in there.

No suggestions, Tweedle but sending you some hugs [[[Tweedle]]]
Has your thyroid issue been sorted or is it an ongoing thing?Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Re: not losing
been treated doesn't mean you are currently at a good hormone level for you with your diet changes and as time goes by. When was the last time you had your free T4 and T3 tested?Originally posted by tweedledee View Posti am working out more. i do have a thyroid problem but its ben treated. i checked my food. i'l try to take mor calcium, but still.....
since birth control pills will lock up your T4 hormones and keep your body from being able to convert them to T3 the one every cell in your body needs for its metabolism you might need an adjust ment in your meds from it too.
Every time my Atkins stalled out it was because my thyroid hormones needed adjusting.by the book atkinseer

Re: not losing
thnx fr the hug. i needed it. thyroid has been ongoing for 11 years. been to endocrinologists, GPs, naturalists, holistic integrative doctors....every kind of doc you can imagine. no one has gotten it right and its only gotten worse. can't lose weight, i am nearly bald after 10 years of hair loss, my boobs sag and shoulders droop and i, in general have the figure and proportions of a post menopausal woman. my BC as not been heing but i annot get pregnant now. weak muscles and ligaments have given me what my podiatrist said are the feet of an 85 year old. i need to get some weight off so i can fee like the 25 year old i am but i am starting to think my only option is to gain weight pn purpose to qualify for surgery but i'd hate to go down that road.Originally posted by Elizellen View PostNo suggestions, Tweedle but sending you some hugs [[[Tweedle]]]

Re: not losing
Tweedle, if birth control could be interfering with weight loss, must you be on *hormonal* birth control? Would it be possible to get a copper T IUD (non-hormonal)? If you are done having children, would you consider (and would your insurance cover) a tubal ligation?

Re: not losing
Life involves risk - no birth control method is foolproof nor free of adverse side effects. If you have a variable that (a) could be impeding weight loss and (b) you have control over that variable...well, all the advice in the world can only go so far until you deal with that variable.Originally posted by tweedledee View Posti have oked into an iud, but i'm very reluctant because my sister in law got pregnant n the IUD and she hemorrhaged, nearly dyng from the blood loss. i knw its rare but it gave me the willes
