    The first week I lost 6 lbs. and the second week I lost 2 lbs. I am now in my third week. I am trying to stay positive. I know that I should be proud of that 8 lbs, but I was sort of disappointed in the second week results. However, I am pressing on staying in induction for awhile. Any suggestions?

    Congratulations!

    In general, in the first week one loses a lot of water weight. As times go by, what is lost is mainly fat... so it's natural for things to slow down.

    Have you read Chapters 12 and 13 in DANDR 2002?

      hang in there weight loss isn't linear and we will have slow weeks fast weeks flat weeks and even a few weeks with gains but the overall direction is downward.

      what are you doing for that mandatory exerricse part of your atkins? I was bigger then you when I started and walking was my chosen exercise.

      are you taking any meds or have any health conditions that might hinder your weight loss?
      Hang in there Betty a former mod and admin here lost nothing for her induction but she hung in there and in 10 months had shed 40 pounds and was a goalie so you can make it even if you don't have a great induction weight loss.

          Well, I have lost now over 10 lbs. (19 days-not 23-I added a week for some reason). I need to relax-10 lbs. (at least-haven't weighed in 3 days) is good for 19 days I think. I am exercising (treadmill and Wii Fit Plus). Thanks for the supportive comments! Isn't Atkins great? I feel so much better and not so weighed down.
