I started Induction 1/4/10. No cheating or Frankenfoods. No alcohol. No caffeine. Lots of water. Pretty good for someone who probably 400+ carbs a day, addicted to caffeine, and hardly drinking water. Started working out (treadmill and weights) 3x/week. I've been in ketosis from the beginning. Results have been slower than I expected. I lost 9 pounds the first week then nothing and I mean NOTHING for a couple weeks. I read posts here for encouragement and stayed the course.
I have a lot (A LOT) to lose and decided to kick things up a notch. Now I'm working with a personal trainer doing circuit training twice a week in addition to the gym workouts. LOVE working with the trainer. Tried boxing last week!
I haven't been keeping a food journal. I thought about using Fitday but I need to figure out how to make it more efficient for me vs. entering multiple ingredients for each meal. I must be missing something...
I'm a repeat offender. Did low carb and exercise in 2003 and lost 75 pounds. Gained it back plus more. Got a lapband in 2006. Lost 75 pounds... mostly from vomiting (complications of a hiatal hernia interacting with the band). Didn't exercise consistently. Lapband slipped and was removed after 1 1/2 years. Gained back most of the weight. Back to basics now. I know low carb woe works for me and that it must be combined with exercise. I'm feeling much better after just 4 weeks. Headaches and GI issues are gone. Energy is up. And I feel proud of myself after working out rather than ashamed after binging.
I appreciate the support and encouragement here. Kelli
