horseradish in uk ?

hello does anyone know where i can buy fresh horseradish in the uk i can,t seem to find it anywhere?
i have been told it grows along the roadside but to be honest i wouldnt know what to look for
the carbs in the jar horseradish is a bit high so thought i would make my own with some mayo

I hve never seen fresh horseradish for sale, and like you I hesitate to pick it from the roadside as I would not be sure what I was picking, it would probably be contaminated with oil and fumes and I don't think legally you are allowed to dig up roots of wild plants.

But I have bought 'freshly grated horseradish' at Waitrose (English Provender brand) which only has horseradish, vegetable oil and preservatives in it and has 19.5 net carbs per 100 grams (3.5 ounces).

Assuming you are not using much in a recipe or as a garnish it should not be too 'carby'.

Make sure you are not buying the 'horseradish sauce' or 'creamed horseradish' as it has sugar etc added.
