    Hi guys,
I am new to the forum and excited to find such a great support group that shares the same interest in a low carb lifestyle. I started the Atkins diet Jan 1st, 2010 and was 255 lbs. I am 5 ft 11 inches, and today weigh 228 lbs. During the induction phase of the diet I lost quickly, however now it is VERY slow. I am currently losing 2-3 lbs a week. I eat less than 10 grams of carbs a day, I do 35 minutes of cardio and am VERY, VERY strict. How can I boost the weight lost again? I will do whatever it takes. Cheers, Saul

    That's what's supposed to happen.

That's really undereating ... and won't help you. Try getting closer to 20 net per day, and don't say on Induction too long. You need do do all the phases of Atkins ... and you should lose most of your weight on OWL.

You think 2-3 lbs a week is "VERY slow"?

I am moving this thread to the 'extended induction' forum as Saul is now past the first 14 days of his induction.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Two to three pounds a week is an excellent rate of loss in my book. I wouldn't worry at all about losing so "slowly."

As others have stated, cutting your carbohydrates down so drastically won't necessarily aid in your weight loss efforts. It might actually have the reverse effect. Personally, I tend to lose less when I cut back carbs too much.
