  • Finally!

    Hey Induction Buddies,

Just a quick note that may be able to help a few of you on induction and extended induction. I started my diet back on December 27th, 2009; a little over a month ago. I wanted to report some great changes that I feel may help someone out there that may be going through what I went through on my induction.

    1. Started WOE on Decmber 27th
    2. Lost five pounds in the first week; I thought I was on the Atkins diet.
    3. Gained five pounds back!
    4. My friends on ADBB finally convinced me that I had to get the book.
    5. I read the WHOLE thing.
    6. LEARNED A LOT.....I was not on real Atkins!
    7. Lost the orginal five pounds the second week.
    8. Gained 2 pounds the third week
    9. Never had any Energy!
    10. Went back to the book!
    11. Asked friends for help!
    12. Started supplments!
    13. Started to feel much better!
    14. No weight loss last week!
    15. Stood at Mcdonalds counter the following day to buy everything they made, but I remembered all of my firends that were pulling for me.....Georgianna, Liv, Atkinsgirl08, BekkiH, SarinaD and so many others that I can't mention on one thread.
    16. Got halfway to the front of the line and walked out!
    17. Came here and asked for help!
    18. They convinced me to move to OWL rung 1 just this week.
    19. Raised my carbs from 15 net to 25 net; almost all from veggies.
    20. They told me to look at my fitday closely and I saw some problems!
    21. The results......preliminary, but
    22. In 2 days, My energy has shot through the roof!
    23. I have lost three pounds!
    24. I can tell its working.......you just know! Your body tells you!

Final note, when you get down and feel like it isn't working, come to your friends here for help and realize they KNOW WHAT THEY are talking about. Work with them and keep trying. Like me, it may take a few weeks, or even months, to get it right.

Hopefully, the long term results will keep going!

I am so glad to see that moving to OWL has made things start working again for you
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

            Re: Finally!

            Hey friends!!!!

I have lost a total of six pounds in four days! On Monday February 1st, I had been stuck at 280 lbs for two weeks and decided to mov to OWL rung 1 at everyone's urging. All I did was add 10 additional net carbs from veggies and I lost six pounds since Monday.....ITS ONLY FRIDAY!

Thank you so much! My new goal is to help spread the word that it is ok to move to OWL if you have stalled in Extended Induction. Thats a hard step to take for us stubborn ones. I can't thank you all enough!

                  great job.

I hope you keep telling inductees to check their fitday nutrtion report as a glowing example of what happens when one fixes those deficiencies. Micronutrtiants are an important part of Atkins that gets overlooked if one skips the chapter on supplements in DANDR

Good for you for Not giving up and being determined enough to figure out what you were doing wrong. I'm sure you too cringe every time someone new on this board "strikes out" at the advice they are

Keep up the good job and I look forward to reading about more of your success.

                        Re: Finally!

Just an update after my Monday Weigh-in and..........drum roll......

                        I LOST 7 POUNDS THIS WEEK! That's 17 pounds in 6 weeks.

Do you guys expect that I will "stall" after usch an excellent week of weight loss? If a stall happens, do people typically move to OWL rung 2 and add five more net carbs or do they consider moving back to induction to get the weight loss started again?

                        Thanks for everything!

                          Re: Finally!

                          COngrats on your awesome loss.

a stall is 4 weeks of no weight loss nor inches lost so you got a long way to go for a stall to happen.

You can stay on the rung you are on or move up if you want to but you do not go backwards to induction umless you are out of ketosis and then it is only for a few days before you return to where you were in OWL.

Dr Atkins plan is about learning new ways to eat and help you make healthy food choices that will keep you healthy and a goalie for life. Keep testing those OWL foods until you understand how your body reacts to them both for weight loss and for craving controls.
