I know you probably don't want to hear this... but the best way to move on is to pick yourself up and start over again.

No point beating yourself up over the guilt, you'll just make it harder for yourself to start over. DANDR says if you stuff up or have your binge, then just take the Chromium & L-glutamine he suggests to stop your binge, then stop feeling guilty and start over.. otherwise you're gonna sit there and keep feeling bad and to make yourself feel better, you'll binge eat again.

So I say, start over with a clean slate, and if you're tempted to binge again, come online, put some posts up, and ask for chat at www.atkinsdietchat.com and someone will be happy to oblige!

Where there are time I know I will be tempted to cheat or am coming off a binge, I keep extra Atkins favorites around. If you have something Atkins you can pop into your mouth it is easier. If you have to wait to cook an egg it is easier and more tempting to eat a donut. Good luck we are here for you.

I had the same problem this past weekend. It started with an M & M and ended in ****. But, the best thing for me to do is to realize that the world did not stop. We are not bad people for mistepping once and a while. And, I also try not to think about it as "starting all over" because there's so much anxiety and guilt in that. I just try to think, I'm getting "back on track"....all it takes is one meal. One meal will put me back on the right side...Just one meal away from being "back"!

Simple solution! If you don't allow yourself to cheat, then you are on track and making great progress.

Plan for success. If you don't plan ahead you will surely fail, so plan, plan and plan some more. It is so worth it.

I have learned thru all these years of trying to lose weight that after I would cheat it was so much easier to cheat again. Before I knew it I was off the diet and heavier than I was before.

SO..... I don't allow myself to cheat. Come join me, be cheatfree. You will be empowered. It is a fantastic feeling to be in control of what I eat, instead of my food controlling me.

Guilt is a totally wasted emotion. It does NO ONE any good!

Second, I think that, induction or not, if you are going to be prone to binges, you should keep something handy that might satisfy a craving, even if it's not on the "induction list" Okay I'm sure I'll get yelled at for saying that because the induction is all about breaking habits. BUT, I think of it this way: IF I am going to eat something anyways, why not make it low carb so I don't kick myself out of ketosis? Maybe I don't lose this week, maybe I do. But at least I didn't go nuts with [insert favorite chocolate bar here]. :wave

If you are going to plan for success, why not make it a legal food to eat.
Only you can do this for yourself. Break the addictions, if you want to succeed.

A binge starts with one single bite. The key is to be vigalent and understand that you may have to stay away from certain foods until you re-introduce foods in OWL and Pre-Maintenance.

I consider myself addicted to certain trigger foods. For the same reasons that it wouldn't be acceptable for a drug addict or an alcoholic to have just a little bit, it may be best to recognize what started the binge and stay away from it.

When you are alone in your head, you are in a bad neighborhood.

I had terrible Induction Flu. Every time I think about eating candy or cookies, I think about having to go through that flu again and it stops me!

The nice thing about Atkins is you make a whoopsie, and the next minute you decide you're going to jump back on the wagon!

You don't have to be like Joe or Jane Rootbeer gut and wait until Monday to start again. Start now!

Drink a lot of water, expect some cravings and general hunger pangs caused by blood sugar issues, and then know that in 48 hours you'll be back on the train to Ketosis Junction.

Granted, cheating can cost you, too. I once lost a whole month of progress to 2 days of cheating. A whole month! Don't be like me!
