Re: So many doubters holding me down...

That does seem a bit low for you to carry, but then I don't know the amount of muscle you carry or the bone size added to it. If I were you, I would check with the doctor and see what his advise is, knowing that you want to lose this last weight.

If it is really too low for you, I would expect that you would find it extremely difficult to keep off once you reached your goal. Just a suggestion to think about! If your doctor thinks it's healthy for you to keep going, you can always tell them that your doctor agrees with you and that should result in the end of that discussion.

Sorry for the italics, I know my finger hit some button accidently but I have no idea which so I can't turn it off.

Re: So many doubters holding me down...

I do understand you because I am on a low-carb diet since 13 years and it took all these years to get to the ideal weight... and the last pounds were the most difficult to loose.

Even if you have an ideal BMI of 24.2 according to your actual weight and height, I do accept that you have set other goals for you and this is very difficult for others to understand. Anyway, this should be a rule for low-carbers: learn to be comfortable with negative comments about your eating plan, any <no support attitude> from others and all exterior influences that can affect you. I have learn with years to simply answer to people that <I am OK... please do not worry...> and this calms them down.

Now to find the reasons why you are not loosing these last pounds is another big job... If you are doing everything <according to the book>, but this has to be seen because it is VERY EASY to make mistake with a low-carb diet with today's unhealthy food items (because of preservative, colorings, additives ect), you must just be patient.

It came for me. I had desperate time like you are having.

But one thing is sure: you have the right to get to the weight you want to be even if everyone thinks <you are OK>. Who are they to settle your standards? Overweight people had so much to suffer before low-carb diets, they can now relax and begin to enjoy life!!!

Re: So many doubters holding me down...

Good Job Kiko and thank you for the encouragement!! Believe it or not, my body has finally reacted to the combination of induction and exercise as evidenced by a woosh on the scale this morning and the unmistakeable taste in my mouth. But, more to the point - I have made the decision to take the advice offered in some of the responses (to my original post) by getting my body fat professionally and accurately tested. This direction will help me more accurately establish a healthy goal weight... and once I am secure in that knowledge... to heck with the doubters. Thanks again.
