  • Lipolysis & TOM?

I am starting to notice a trend here. I usually stay in the Mauve color of Lipolysis, but as I get closer to that time of month, I go deep purple without changing my diet. Anybody else notice this or is it just me?

We had a member here do some research on the ketostix readings and TOM. She found out that the iron from the menstrual blood can cause a lower reading on the ketostix.

Don't be fooled that using a tampon and cleaning yourself before taking a reading will eliminate the iron. I work in a doctor's office so when I use a ketostix, I use the ones that have indicator areas for blood, sugar, and other things. Early in my atkins, I tested my urine 1 day before the start of my TOM and the test strip was able to pick up a small amount of blood.

    I hope that helps.
