  • ZERO appetite... Good? Bad?

Over the past few days I have found that my appetite has dropped off almost completely! I might have a tiny nibble in the morning, just to try to kick-start my metabolism, even though I feel NO desire to eat. Then, I don't eat anything until 3-4pm, when I have a real meal (eggs and bacon, baked chicken breast or something like that). But then I feel full enough that I really am not interested in anything more for the rest of the day. I only make myself a small salad to try to be 'good' - never out of hunger.
    Is that bad?

Well, if you are consistently undereating, you will slow down your metabolism... which, among other things, is likely to also interfere with your weight loss.

Sometimes you have to eat even when not hungry, especially on Induction, and then it's best to make sure each bite is very nutritious and higher in calories. That way you will not feel as if you have to eat an enormous amount of food.

real meal (eggs and bacon, baked chicken breast or something like that)
It would be good to have some vegetables with your lunch. It's better to spread your net carbs throughout the day instead of eating them all in one meal (dinner, in your case).

    a small salad
    What's in the salad?

How many net carbs does it have?

Did you take a look at your vitamins and minerals in FitDay, to see if you are getting proper nutrition from the foods you eat?

Certain nutrient deficiencies are not only bad for your overall health, but they can also slow down weight loss... which I'm sure you want to avoid.

I have the same problem. On most days I have zero appetite. Then if I get hungry and eat that's it, no hunger for the rest of the day. I try to work some snacks in there like turkey roll ups etc. Just so I am eating but it's hard to make yourself eat. Eggnog shakes are great for those times when you need food but don't really want it. Add in some pumpkin and you get a veggie too.

        Re: ZERO appetite... Good? Bad?

Congratulations on getting to ketosis and appetite suppression. this is the time to listen to your body for hunger symptoms and follow Dr Atkins instructions about the 6 hr rule.

if we are not hungry then we have a small snack of some of our protein fats and veggie carbs if it has been 6 hours since our last meal. then we listen to our body for hunger signals. things like feeling tired, lightheaded, confused, or agitated or any symptom your body uses to tell you that you need some fuel to make energy.

On days you don't feel hungry make your snacks nutritionally dense so you are getting your vits and minerals too.

Some days you will eat a little and other days you will be hungry and eat a lot. Just go with your hunger and follow the rules.
