  • Day 1 of extended Induction

So I have been through Induction and I am not really bored of the food...I actually am quite satisfied, so I thought I would extend my Induction. I ordered DANDR 2002 off ebay and am awaiting its arrival. I think I will go seven more days in Induction and then move into OWL...unless book is not here by then. I still have quite a bit of weight to lose, so the extended induction shouldn't hamper my efforts to learn how to eat right on OWL on my way to pre-maint. and maint. I want to go into OWL with all the right info. What are your thoughts?

    Good plan.

Of course, you can add another 5 net carbs of Induction vegetables and do Rung 1 ...

keep asking yourself if you are satisfied with your food choices and if the answer is yes then stay with your exteneded until you have got your book and educated yourself on how to do OWL. if not then you could add rung one easy as it is 5 more net carb grams of those yummy induction veggies added to the 3 cups you are already having.

One thing you should be aware of is that it is very hard to get all the vits and minerals from your induction legal food choices so you should track your eating and check your daily intake of the vits and minerals cause getting low in some can negatively effect our weight loss.

thanks for the info. I have been tracking since day one on fitday, so I will check the nutrition right away.

I am in the "red" with a lot of nutrients but I do take a daily multi-vitamin. It is formulated for senior citizens. I think I read somewhere that that would be best as it has no iron (although my iron intake is low according to fitday.) I am correct about that?

Yes. Generally we get enough iron in this plan to compensate. BUT if you feel anemic, you might want to talk to the doctor. I once heard it was healthier to have low iron, rather than high.

make your VP a custom food and eat one each day. then you have all the vits and minerals on your report.

Some folk don't digest iron in food as well as others and some foods can block absorpton so if you are felling anemic see your doc a simple blood test will let him know if you need additional iron or not.

Tip for thse with iron absorption problems: take iron supplement at the same time as chewing a vitamin C tab-it aids in absorption of iron
