  • Why no weight loss??

    Ok I had lost 16lbs on the original 14day induction, and was so happy with results i opted to extend it a little while longer...

    its been almost a weeek. i hit 193 at my lowest, and now im going back up !!! What is going on?!?!

    I normally eat eggs for breakfast with tea.
    some veggies for snack
    salad with chicken for lunch
    veggies & cheese for snack.
    some sort of meat with veggies/salad for dinner.
    snack.
    LOTS OF WATER> still hovering around 20g/day... im so depressed now. I even excercise daily.

    WHATS WRONG?

    Maybe you aren't eating enough. The body normally responds to a reduction in food immediately but then says "whoa baby, I need to prepare for a famish". When that happens it tries for dear life to hold on to everything you consume. Maybe try posting a few days complete meals and wait for some knowlegeable feedback. Or, put your "some kind of meat with veggies" in a program like Fitday and see if you are getting enough calories and carbs and everything else your body needs. Good luck!

      How many net carbs are you eating, exactly?

      What "veggies" are you eating, exactly?

      How much water are you drinking, exactly?

        If its any comfort after my 2 week induction and losing 14lb I stuck for 2 weeks at the same weight then it started to move again!! Just stick at it your body is probably just adjusting and you will soon find it moves again! Good luck

          Yeah stuck is a bit normal after induction. We call it PISS sometimes - Post induction stall syndrome.
          Lost of us get there.

          Other things that may affect your weights are hormones, (like your period coming), stress, medication, lots of exercising.

          You do not give amounts for your food or tell us what you drink so we cannot really tell you if you are on the right track for food.
          Maybe you should add your food to FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal and see how it comes out. You need to be eating sufficient fat and calories for this to work

            deep breath and relax you are in a very common weight loss hesitation period that is as Liv said known as PISS around here. If you use your tape measure you should still see inches of body fat being burned off even when the scales say no change.

            Unless you added a new to your food or increased your amount of food being eatting this hesitation in scale weight will change in bit.

            If you aren't watching your vits and minerals you can get deficient and that too can cause weight loss stoppage so plug it into something like fitday and see.

              What do you mean by back up, how much have you gone back up. Could be your body telling you that it doesnt' want extended induction, it needs to move on to OWL.

                Ok...
                Veggies -> cucumbers/lettuce/spinace/LOTS OF PEPPERS / cauliflower.
                Water - 5-8 bottles a day
                Tea - 2-3 x a day.

                Im excercising everyday, and someone mentioned my horomes, i do believe my period is coming, and last time i had it, it did stall my weight.

                By back up I mean i went from 193 to 197 in a matter of days. but it may have evened out, i dont weigh myself until the mornings.

                Im trying to stick to 20-25g/carbs a day.

                        hmm 4 oz. thats weird, that would mean id have to drink 16bottles a day to get the 8oz.. :S. thats a whole lotta water. but howcome i lost before drinking only the 4oz, and now im stalled.

                          First off, 500 ml = 16.9070114 ounces, so your math is off.

                          5 bottles would be 84.5 ounces.

                          8 bottles would be 135 ounces.

                          Do you actually buy these bottles or do you refill a reusable bottle?

                          Can you list a typical day's menu, with net carb counts and quantities?

                            wow - yeah math was never my subject but i used an online calc haha.
                            Yes i use both the plastic (and refill them) and a giant 1L reusable bottle.

                            Typical Day:
                            Breakfast - 3eggs, 1cup Green Tea, 1slice of cheese
                            Snack - peppers/cucumbers/water/cheese
                            Lunch - salad with chicken & some veggies. with light italian dressing
                            Snack - more veggies (sometimes luncheon meats)
                            Dinner - more meat with veggies, sometimes i use tuna.
                            I always drink water & tea thrroughout the day.
                            I use the lowest carb veggies listed in the book. eat the no carb cheese strings/babybells.

                              That's not safe, really, to use the plastic ones and refill them. You would do better to buy a smaller reusable. And better for the environment.

                              You didn't list any quantities or net carbs.

                              You shouldn't have "light Italian dressing" ... "light" generally means added carbs. What's the list of ingredients?

                              Cheese isn't "no carbs". How much cheese are you eating, exactly.

                              Why are you only eating the "lowest carb veggies" in the book?
