  • Leg cramps/achiness?

I have been on extended induction now for 3 weeks (after 2 week Induction) and my leg ache woke me up this morning. It's in my lower leg, ankle, and foot... seemed to feel deep inside, heat helped it and now it's better. Am I taking the wrong supplements? I have potassium, calcium/magnesium, chromium, a multivitamin, and COQ10.

plug your foods and your supplements into something like fitday.com and see if you are defieicnet in any of them.

some times things happen that are not atkins related. did you start any new exercise program or any new activities?

if it still bothers you after a few days see your doc

I've been having the same problem. I get a cramp in my calves and (weirdly) in the arch of my right foot. I haven't changed my exercise routine or any other routine for that matter, nor have I bought new shoes or anything that would cause my weight distribution on my feet to change so I'm baffled by it.

I've been using the calculator on The Daily Plate (ignoring the "suggested" intakes and going by the book instead). Are there better features on fitday.com?

I don't know the Daily Plate but I know fitday gives you a nutritional breakdown of the food so that you can see how you are doing on the vitamins and minerals.

Cramps are often a deficit of something. It may even be water.
Ache I am not so sure about. If I get ache in my legs it is usually connected to me using wrong footwear or over exercising.

Make sure you're eating enough vegetables and getting more than enough water.

A calcium magnesium supplement can help, too.

          Be careful of OTC potassium.

Eat an avocado instead (remember the limit on Induction is 1/2 a small).

I'll have to find something other than avocado. I HATE them! I know, I'm weird. I don't like mayonaise either.
