  • not hungry

I have been on the Induction Phase for a little over 1 month and lately I just haven't been hungry. For instance, yesterday I had 2 stalks of celery, 1 ounce of colby/jack cheese, ranch dressing, one of those little bags of pork rinds, 1 nitrate free hot dog w/mustard and 1 cup of salad greens with 2 slices of nitrate free turkey, cheese, 1/4 cup mushrooms, 1/4 cup of green peppers, 1/4 cup of cucumbers and ranch dressing. I also had 5-6 glasses of ice water. Because I have been trying to eat more veggies, I also forced down about 1 cup of broccoli for dinner. Is it normal to not be hungry at this stage of the plan?

    Yes.

However, with not so much weight to lose, you really should be on OWL.

You should also be drinking more water.

When the "I'm not hungry" happens, sometimes one has to just eat through it ... not eating enough food ... either in calories or in net carbs, can result in "famine mode" ... and that just messes with your metabolism.

Instead of pork rinds and hot dogs and "nitrate free turkey", eating unprocessed meat would be much better.

How big are your glasses of water?

With only 25 lbs to lose, it's time to move to OWL.

I third the suggestion of thinking about moving to OWL to allow you the time to really explore the various rung foods while adding more carbs.

Remember, Dr Atkins wanted us to be ready to move to the third phase of Atkins when we have between 5 & 10 pounds left to lose.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
