  • ARGH....

    Good morning everyone.
First I want to thank everyone who welcomed me and answered my questions yesterday. I got out my body fat monitor, and I have lost 3% body fat, so I feel better. My questions now is

    1) We went out for dinner Sat ( our anniversary ) and I had a salad, and bowl of French onion soup ( ate most of the broth, and all of the cheese, and left 90% of the onions in the bowl) and then sirloin. I put everything into diet power and it showed a total of 30 carbs for the day. Could that have tossed me out of ketosis today? ( no change since just today I am not showing any color), or could it be, that because I was completely inattentive, I did not know that Iced tea has carb...and I drank 194 ounces of it yesterday?

    Thanks
    Amy

Did you drink any water at all yesterday? That is a lot of tea. Make sure on fitday you are checking your net carbs cause fitday does not seperate them out for you. So for your net carbs subtract fiber from total carbs and you will get your net.

Did that include the iced tea carbs?
I dont know how big 'one serving' of the iced tea would be but even if it was a 'sugarfree' version you definitely went over your '3 servings of splenda' I imagine :sadblinky

Anyway - it is done so you need to get back on the Atkins train and keep with the programme and watch out for cravings :yes Make sure you have plenty of 'legal' snacks if you get a case of the 'munchies'

BTW the 64 ounces of water is the minimum for someone who is at goal weight - those of us with pounds to lose should be having at least 8 extra ounces for every 25 pounds we want to lose :capital :capital
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

It was unsweetened iced tea. I never sugar my tea. It was just carbs fromthe tea itsself.

          Oh well.

You drank 194 ounces of iced tea????? :yikes :yikes

Well fitday shows 1g of carbs for every 8 ozs so that would be around 24g of carbs. And I know tea doesn't have as much caffeine as coffee but it does have caffeine, so i'd think that was also an unacceptable amount of caffeine as well. I'd highly recommend you cut waaaay down on the iced tea (how bout you replace it with water?) or cut it out completely!

I naturally drink alot, I always have. I love iced tea. I just figured that everyone knew it was unseetened and decaffinated since that is what is allowed. the book does say it is unlimited Oh well. only 64 oz of tea today, 128 oz of water. Diet power shows it at .66 per 8 oz.

              Thanks to everyone

Keep in mind even though things may be unlimited (eggs are a good example)they can contain carbs and are not a 'free food' You do need to count the carbs in everything you eat/drink if it has them even if there are no limits on it.
