I started atkins three weeks ago. The first 2 weeks went great! I lost 12lbs and was so excited. Since then though, absolutely nothing the third week. I am continuing on induction as I have over 100lbs to lose. Any suggestions. I am following induction to the T?

Sounds like you are right on schedule. That is what happens to most of us.
Just keep going.
If you like you can share your menu and if something needs tweaking we will let you know.

Re: Did great first two weeks, then nothing...
Thanks for the encouragement, I'm glad to know its not just me. An sample menu from yesterday:
2 eggs scrambled
3 pieces of bacon
Taco Salad (homemade)
ground beef
Iceberg lettuce
1/2 a roma tomato
5 chopped black olives
1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
2tbs of sour cream
1 piece of string cheese (snack)
Chicken salad
Grilled Chicken
mayo
celery
1 tsp of lemon juice
salt and pepper
Steamed Broccoli
Protein shake (it has 1 carb, a personal trainer friend told me I should have it before bed, to keep my metabolism going overnight)
What do you think? (Thanks so much for looking at this, all this is new to me!)

Re: Did great first two weeks, then nothing...
I am thinking it is pretty good. Make sure you drink plenty of water. Plenty.
And do eat your veggies. All three cups of it every day. (I cannot tell how much veggies you are having becasue you are not listing quantities)
If your cheese was pre shredded it may contain starches. Look at the list of ingredients. And remember there is a daily cheese limit.
If you have a protein shake I think you probably end up over doing proteins. Maybe people on the other kind of diets need a lot of protein but we need a lot of fat on our diet. I would concentrate on adding a bit more fat to all your meals. Butter with your chicken and broccoli for instance? (If you have a lot of mayo - you may do well on fat but you are not giving quantity so I am just guessing)
So it is looking pretty good to me.
And if you want to you can start logging meals in FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal It will tell you how you are doing on your macro nutrients (and your micro) You are aiming for around 65% of your calories coming from fat in the first phase of the atkins diet.
Are you exercising?

Re: Did great first two weeks, then nothing...
Your menu looks good. are you satisfying your hunger each time you eat? if so them just keep going and check your measurements to see inches of body fat being removed even when the scales say no change.
your shake isn't a good idea as far as Atkins goes since we want our body burning body fat over night not glucose from the protein shake conversion.by the book atkinseer

Re: Did great first two weeks, then nothing...
There is a shake thst lots of our members make themselves which has enough fat in it for Atkins. The thread is in this forum and is called something like 'Eggnog Shake for breakfast'Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Re: Did great first two weeks, then nothing...
yep but even a legal shake isn't something we'd drink just to drink. if one is hungry in the evening then sure drink the sahake or eat some legal food but don't consume it just to consume it. Our metabolism will be working all night long on growth and repair of our body along with staying alive so we don't need any fuel to boost it.by the book atkinseer

Re: Did great first two weeks, then nothing...
Thanks for all the advice guys! I'll knock out the protein shakes and see how it goes! Still no weight loss to speak off, but no weight gain, so for now I'll stay happy with that. I've been adding in more exercise...so keep your fingers crossed!!

Are you measuring as well - your added exercise might be starting to resculpt your body so you are smaller if not lighter

Re: Did great first two weeks, then nothing...
Thanks for sharing. I'm having the same problem. Lost 15.2 in first 2 weeks then nothing. Getting down on myself but this post made me realize that I am not alone
I'm gonna hang in there and keep doing what I'm doing. Also this time around I'm exercising so I hoping that will make a big difference. I feel good and inches are gone but I'm a slave to that scale!
