I'm really struggling tonight, and I'm 2 1/2 weeks into this. I'm starting to run low on snacks or dessert like things. I've tried the mock danish and it was great. Anything else like that would help a bunch. Thanks!

Re: Induction legal desserts or snacks
What would help you more is to break your craving/addiction to sweet ... which is one of the purposes of Induction.
It's really best not to feed a craving.
Having "dessert like things" isn't in your best interest.
Drink some water, refocus, having something fatty or protein based.
Make sure you always have something available.J.

Re: Induction legal desserts or snacks
Though fully agreeing with Atkinsgal's suggestion to use your first few weeks as a way to kill off that sugar monster (mine seems to have disappeared completely
) for an occasional dessert we have many good recipes in the 'desserts' forum.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Re: Induction legal desserts or snacks
Hi Lindz-
Something that has helped me a lot is that when I really started this WOE right I said to myself: Doesn't matter if you're doing Atkins, treats are treats and you should treat them as thus. Therefore except for the occasional diet soda or a mock danish I NEVER EVER have any desserts during the week. I do, however, make a nice lemon jello cheesecake, or have some sweet LC 'porridge' on the weekends. It is a nice treat that takes away my desire for desserts, but it's good to treat special desserts as once/twice a week indulgences.
There was a very delicious recipe for a pumpkin mock danish type of dish- you can just search the board or google for LOTS of recipes.5'4, Medium framed female.

Mixing together & heating up some pure pumpkin, cream cheese, ground cinnamon, & Splenda is pretty good.

Re: Induction legal desserts or snacks
I love the pumpkin cream cheese mixture. It is one of my go to places too. It is a bit like the mock Danish but more fruity. I always have a few cans of pumpkin in my cupboard.
Some times a bit of whipped cream does the trick (but it has to be real cream).
Make sure that you eat good meals, that are proteiny and fatty so that you do not "have to" have snacks all the time. Though we may all enjoy a treat it should not be something we plan for daily.

Re: Induction legal desserts or snacks
1/2 cup of sugar free jello is great for me. I just found strawberry bananna recently, not sure if its new or if I've always just overlooked it but it is great. 0 carbs super easy to make. I found some great small 1 cup containers & I'll fill those, take 1 for lunch & eat half & then I have half for the next day too. I agree though that my sweet tooth has decreassed so much since I started Atkins in late Jan but it's still nice to have just that a treat

Re: Induction legal desserts or snacks
Thank you all so much!
I do admit that my sweet tooth has gone down a lot since I started this. I feel so encouraged by this board, I'm down a little over 20lbs and I feel really great. For the first time I think ever, I think I really can do this.
Thanks again!
