  • PLEASE READ...IN NEED OF SERIOUS MOTIVATION

i haven't been around for a while because i fell off the wagon. dh and i havn't been alone since dec. of last year, with the new baby it has been kinda impossible until last weekend that is. we got to go out and we had a great time but what was going to be one glass of wine for me turned into 5 needless to say i got a little tipsy and the alcohol became sort of like a "gateway drug" and carbs became my drug of choice!!!! i came home and the babysitter had eaten my last piece of lc pizza so without hesitation i headed out the door and to the nearest del taco.UGH!! the next morning i woke with a major headache and 4 xtra pounds. since then i lost 3 of what i gained but am now in a stall, or at least thats what i have been telling myself! tonight i realized i am going about this half-a***d and the only way i am gonna get rid of this 40 lbs is to admit my problems and start over. the hardest thing has been my fatigue. it has been EXTREME all week so i have had 1 sometimes 2 americano's from starbucks every day. i tell myself it's ok because they are induction friendly aside from the caffeine, which i think has been causing the intense sugar cravings. to curb those i head straight for the hvy cream!! way more than 2-3 tbsp of course. plus i have gone from drinking over a gallon of water a day to maybe 64 oz. now onto my portion sizes, lets just say they are undoubtedly more than they should be! oh god , the list goes on.... i guess what i am looking for here is a little motivation maybe some butt kicking? to get myself outta this pinch do i stay in ext induction or do i suck it up and go back to day one? and is it possible that when i cheated i threw myself out of ketosis therefore i have the "flu" all over again? because that's what this fatigue feels like. my plan for 2morrow is to exercise as soon as the coffee craving hits which is usually 1st thing. i told myself all day today that i would ween myself slowly and go for decaf but i think cold turkey would be best , i don't think i have the will power to go into a starbucks and buy decaf, besides to me decaf kinda defeats the purpose(lol) ok i am looking for all the free advice i can get here!!!! thank god for u guys or i might just give up completely!!! michelle

Get yourself together and start from day one, at least that's what I think and don't wait till tomorrow, but right now !!!
You have awoken your carb-addictions so I think the only solution is to go totally cold turkey and stick to pure induction again to get away from it.
Good Luck Michelle, YOU CAN DO IT !!!!!!!!! :guns

sorry it all went wrong for you Missmichelle
Maybe you can treat it as a 'learning curve' to help you stay on track.

So now you know YOU cannot have alcohol on induction without risking a 'binge' you have the knowledge to decide what to do next time an occasion to celebrate arises. Plan in advance what you want to do and let others know you want them to help you stick to it.
i have had 1 sometimes 2 americano's from starbucks every day. i tell myself it's ok because they are induction friendly aside from the caffeine, which i think has been causing the intense sugar cravings
Your phrase 'aside from the caffeine' is important to remember here - caffeine is NOT induction friendly for you so plan to avoid buying caffeine drinks. Maybe give starbucks a miss for a few weeks if you can't bear to buy decaff?
to get myself outta this pinch do i stay in ext induction or do i suck it up and go back to day one?
Extended induction is the same as induction - except some people do allow themselves one ounce of seeds or nuts OCCASIONALLY. If you have been adding other non-induction foods you do need to return to eating from the acceptable foods list only.
BTW you can never go back to day one :sadblinky
and is it possible that when i cheated i threw myself out of ketosis therefore i have the "flu" all over again?
Probably! Though if you are lucky you might not find it as bad as the first time, and you know it doesn't last forever :hug
Be prepared for that as well as for cravings too! Have lots of induction-legal snacks ready in case the sugar-monster comes calling and feed him with a highfat snack instead of anything sweet.
my plan for 2morrow is to exercise as soon as the coffee craving hits which is usually 1st thing.
Well done - lots of extra water too :capital :capital
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

New baby? If you are breastfeeding, you don't want to start the low-carb road to perdition just yet, honey.

        Follow the maintenance diet.

This will also help wean you down off of those carbs rather than give you a harsh slap in the fanny!

If you are no longer breastfeeding, it is time (said in my best Mufasa "Lion King" voice) to get started on that new you!

I found out that you can claim the first bit of overweight on baby-delivery excess. But, 4 years after the fact and that excuse isn't working anymore for me! *lol*

You can so do this, girl! :joy

thanks guys.... i was up half the night trying to figure things out and i know on eof the major problems i am having is that i am yo-yo-ing everyday as far as my cal intake according to my bmr, i either double the amnt in 1 day or i am lucky to reach half of what i need. the only way for me to slove this is going to be to plan better and use fitday more. it's just difficult to find time to sit at the computer when i have the new baby, an experienced rug rat, and a jr pre-teen(as she likes to call herself-she's 8 for petes sake!!!) i am just going to have to give myself 10-15 mins at the end of each day i guess. this will also insure that i am counting my carbs more strictly than i have been. how do i get my fitday menu on the board??? u guys are all so awesome- michelle

Lets try that again . . . LOL

Don't give up ! Many of us have been where you are now . . . and the thing to do is just pick yourself up . . . and keep heading forward. You will find that the longer you do this diet, the easier it gets . . . because eventually, it becomes second nature. When you start to REALLY see the results of your hard work . . . that is a type of motivation that will send you jet rocketing forward at light speed . . . a type of motivation that you get from pride . . . and confidence . . . a type of motivation that brings knowledge . . .the knowledge that all of your struggling . . . all of your exercising . . . and all of that water! . . . is paying off.

As a former Starbucks junkie . . . I would recommend quitting cold turkey . . . not only is the caffiene bad for you , and not allowed on induction . . . think of all the money you will save! I used to go to 'buck's twice a day - spending a whopping 10 dollars on two cups of coffee. When I quit, I decided to save that 10 dollars a day . . . instead of spending it on the coffee, I put it into a jar. After A week . . . I had 70 dollars saved - it made me think Holy " ," I can't believe I have been wasting that much money on COFFEE. I continue to save that money, and that will be the money that I use to buy myself new clothes when I reach my goal. I will need a whole new wardrobe . . . and 70 bucks a week will surely get me there. Perhaps trying something like that will motivate you!

We are all here to support you! Learn to depend on us, and we will help get you through the tough times!
