  • For those that have experienced a true stall, How'd you break it?

I've lost 40lbs since Sept 1. Then the brakes came on Feb 1. Eating habits have not changed, so it was working. Have made some adjustments. More water (nothing else), No Chrystal Lite, started walking 1/2 hour per day 5 days a week. Clothes feel marginally looser. (maybe not. If you look for something hard enough, you'll see it even if it's not there).

Those of you who had exerienced similar, what worked for you?

Why not move to OWL? If you've been on Induction since September, that's really too long.

When I stalled on induction I moved to owl, got things going again. Why not try it. Induction works but it only works for so long, sounds like you've gotten all you can from it.

Thanks for the reply. I really haven't thought about it. I read in "The New Atkins For A New You" on pg. 111, if you still have a lot of weight to still lose, you can stay on induction till you get near your goal. I still have about 100lbs to go. That's why I need some advice from those with experience. I'll look into moving on.

          >>"The New Atkins For A New You" on pg. 111, if you still have a lot of weight to still lose, you can stay on induction till you get near your goal.>>

It also says, "Don’t make the mistake of staying in Induction too long just because you love how the pounds are peeling off. Eventually, it’s important to move through the phases to ensure that you have cured yourself of your old habits and can reintroduce foods without halting your weight loss or provoking cravings. Losing weight fast is exhilarating, but it will likely be a temporary fix if you don’t find your comfort zone for eating in the 'real world.'"

          That's crucial.

A lot of repeaters or failed people stayed in Induction too long. Pre-maintenance is when you're 5-10 pounds until goal, so if you don't give yourself plenty of room on OWL, you're not likely to learn what you need to learn.

100 pounds isn't too much to lose on OWL and pre-maintenance.

Thanks again for the reply. I'll start looking into moving on to OWL. Need to now figure out what I can have and how much. Thanks again for the help.
