  • 3rd week and seem to have stopped losing

I've just finished my 3rd week on induction, and am finding it quite easy to stick to 20 Grams.
First week lost 7lbs, second week 2.5lbs and this week only 1lb
I'm being very good at what I eat, although not much exercise.
How do I get back to loosing more weight than I am now???

How much weight in total are you hoping to lose, Kimbo?
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Re: For those that have experienced a true stall, How'd you break it?

I want to lose a couple of stone. Stating weight was 15st 5lbs and I want to get down to 13st, so I can get into my DJ which I have to wear for a charity show I'm in. (back row of the chorus)
This week is dreadfull, I've been very good with the food, although little excersize as I've hurt my back, but don't seem to have lost anything.
I'm only eating between 12-15 grammes a day.

Any ideas how to get the pound moving off

I have moved your posts into their own new thread so they don't get mixed up with the other posters questions.

So your total hoped-for loss is 33 pounds and you lost 9.5 pounds on your first 2 weeks - that was excellent
You lost nearly 29% of your total loss already
According to the chart in DANDR Chapter 13 that means you have a low to average resistance to weightloss so staying on induction is probably not going to help you lose weight any faster than moving to the main weightloss phase of Atkins now.

Move to OWL and start adding 5 net carbs of your induction veggies, then if you are still losing inches or weight move on up the carbohydrate ladder.

Re: 3rd week and seem to have stopped losing

Elizellen, I guess I missed the chart in Chapter 13....what would it mean for me if I lost 15 pounds my first two weeks? I have 85 more pounds to lose...so I should keep doing induction...right?
            God Bless Everyone!

            Started 3-29-10
            Total lost = 26 pounds

            1st goal = Lose 50 pounds
            2nd goal = Get under 200 pounds
            3rd goal = Reach 170 pounds

            just a little closer.......

According to the chart a man with over 50 pounds to lose who loses 16 pounds has a low resistance to weightloss, and 12 pounds has an average resistance. As you had double that maybe you have an average resistance rather than a low resistance to weightloss.

Staying on induction could be an option for you if you are happy with the answers you make to the 4 questions in Chapter 13
In order to decide if this is the right time for you to move on, I suggest you answer the following four questions:
              1. Are you bored with Induction?
              2. How much weight do you have to lose?
              3. How metabolically resistant are you to weight loss?
              4. Are you willing to slow down the pace of weight loss in exchange for more food choices?
If you are bored, and this boredom could lead to not complying with the Rules of Induction, by all means move on to OWL after two weeks. However, if you are comfortable staying in this phase, and you still have a lot of weight to lose, you can do Induction safely for six months or more.
If you do decide to stay on induction for a length of time make sure you keep revisiting the 4 questions, especially number 1.
As for question number 4 - many people find an extended induction seems to slow down their losing progress and moving to OWL seems to kickstart it again rather than slow it down more.

Many thanks Elizellen, I will move onto OWL and keep moving the pounds off slowly.

                  Great to hear.

As for the exercise situation - you can google for 'chair bound exercises' or 'sedentary exercises' to find ones you can do sitting down which should not put strain on your back.

Does your back allow you to walk? If so that is a good way to get moving.
