A friend of mine who is on the atkins diet as well told me that I should continue on the induction path until I have lost 1/2 the amount of weight I want to lose before starting to add fruits and other good carbs. I'm really missing fruits and yogurt since they were typically a staple for me for Breakfast. Any advice on what to do next is greatly appreciated!

You may have a wonderful friend, but your friend doesn't seem to know how Atkins works.
Since you're reading Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, check out chapters 12 and 13 to review your results on Induction and Ch. 14 will give you advice on starting OWL.J.

I would do as Atkinsgal08 tells you. You will see in chapter 13 that you should move to OWL if you want to add more variety to your menu. You start OWL with more vegetables, and later you can add back yogurt, berries, melons and other fruits.Natalie

Re: To continue or not to continue on Induction...
Most of your weight should be lost on OWL not on Induction. After you read the chapters above you should have your friend read them also. Make sure your drinking enough pure water daily - taking a vitamin w/o iron and exercising.
Once you move to OWL you will start adding foods back in a specific order and will soon be able to add back the foods you miss. When you get to the proper rung eat Greek Yogurt, not the sugar laden yogurts on the market.
Good luckCarole_____________________May Water 130oz daily

There is no rule about when to move to OWL. So you are the one who makes that decision. I moved to Owl after about 3 weeks and then did owl very very slowly, That is what worked for me
