    Hello!
    I started the Atkins woe on 4/20/10. (30 days ago). I've lost 16.5 pounds (none in the last 4 days) ...but I'm still following the plan as I'm sure it will keep coming off. I'm drinking PLENTY of water, but for a while I was forgetting to eat. I didnt realize that I hadnt eaten untill about 3pm, so I wasnt getting enough carbs or calories. I now make it a point to eat breakfast EVERY morning, lunch and dinner. I think that was the reason I didnt loose as much. My question is, is it okay to take these vitamins
    1. Acai (anti oxidents)
    2. Fish oil (omega 3)
    3. Benefiber pills (to help with regularity)
    4. Womens one a day vitamins
    5. flaxseed oil

    Are these good ones to take while on Atkins?? And also I'm wondering about the "Jillian Micheals" whey protien drink. It has 3 grams of dietary fiber, 3 grams sugar per serving. (and 15 grams of protien).

    My ketone strips are at the darkest purple, I thought this was a great thing, but people are saying they are not reliable??

    Congratulations on those 16.5 pounds shed!! What a great start to your Atkins journey

    I thnk your vitamins etc look OK. As for the whey protein drink, if it contqins whey protein it is really not an induction 'legal' food choice, but could be introduced when you reach the 2nd OWL level/rung and you start to add dairy products.

    But remember that Atkins is not really a 'high protein' way of eating, and so you would probably need to add some kind of fat along with all that protein so as not to unbalance your intake.

      I don't mean to be too personal, but are you eating the full amount of vegetables? That tends to really help with regularity. Wanna post a full menu of what you ate and drank yesterday (including amounts)? Maybe someone can give some suggestions!

        I think that whey has sugar in it in the form of fructose so it will not be a good choice for Atkins people. You can do protein isolates on induction but read labels and choose wisely. It is better to get into whole foods and to eat plenty of veggies.
