  • Lonely Binge

I was feeling extra lonely last night, husband away on business trip and both my kids went out together with a group of friends. I had a good dinner, but then I had an Atkins bar, some pork rinds dipped in sour cream, some cream cheese on celery and some olives! So I binged on legal food, it was very strange. I know I went over my 20 carb limit, I started Febuary 22nd and was proud to say I had never cheated,, but now, I guess I have? I am an emotional eater and I have made it through arguments with hubby, minor surgery and a flood in my basement all without cheating, then lonlliness came along and I comforted myself with food!

Now that you know what your triggered response is to loneliness, you can plan ahead!

Questions to ask yourself and to prepre for next time include:

    1) What is my usual response to being alone?
    2) What is an activity or special event I can save for those times instead of eating?

Practice thinking about what you look forward to doing the next time you're alone, whether it's painting your nails, getting a great new novel to read during those couple of blissfully uninterrupted days, or brushing up on your scrapbooking skills, or even a day out thrift store shopping.

By the time comes along when you would have normally settled in for a threesome with Ben and Jerry, you'll be sitting pretty, pampered and cheat-free!

did you look at the ingredients list on the Atkins bar? did it have anything not on the 'acceptable foods list' on that list?
If so that might be what triggered your 'legal binge' :hug

Yes, it was a peanut butter bar. I shouldn't have had it in the house! My daughter left some here last time she visited.

So it would probably have contained:
Oat Flour, Peanut Flour, Ground Peanuts, Rolled Oats - foods from the grains rung and and the legumes rung!

One or more of these ingredients might have triggered it!!
