well of course we are going to say low carb...you need to pick up the 2002 DNDR and decide if it is the right diet for you...educate yourself about this diet so you can answer your family's questions. If you have a specific question to ask us about this diet please ask.

Are you a lifelong dieter or not?

See, we all have tried ALL the diets out there and found that this really does work the best!

you know, this has happened with some members of my family and certain friends. I remember a few years ago i had started and lost about 14lbs in three weeks. Some of my friends were really supported and others would say, "Oh, losing all that weight isn't healthy" or "Atkins is dangerous for you" This basically means i was changing (weight wise) and they were jealous and didn't like it. First, tell your loved ones that you're doing this to be healthy and for you..if they really loved you they would support you no matter what. Second, make sure you don't have temptation lying around or you're screwed. Third, have fun, exercise, drink plenty of water, and watch all that weight go away! :icondance

couldn't have said it better myself. My family told me the other day they were worried because a family friend "died from a massive heart attack due to atkins" There was no proof and no one would do an autopsy to see if that was true.

            Baby_usa how old are you?
I may be misinterpreting your nickname to assume you are a teenager, but if you are fairly young it might be an idea to see your doctor and get his/her OK and help in deciding how to lose weight.
Teenagers are still growing and so might need different vitamins and supplements than adults do.
If you are living with your family and do not do your own cooking you might find doing induction very hard to stick to against family opinion.

Have you a lot of weight to lose? Changing to an 'Atkins maintenance' way of eating and upping your exercise might help you get to goal without adverse comments if you don't need to lose too much.
After all they couldn't complain if you dropped all added sugar and didnt eat much in the way of starchy foods and ate no 'fast foods' to lose weightwhile exercising more.
Everyone would agree that was a healthy way of eating and support you I am sure :hug
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
