Are flax seeds ok on Induction? I haven't ever tried them, but after much searching I found a place that sells them, not grounded though. Lots of lc recepies use flaxmeal but I've noticed that they have a large amount of carbs. The book I have doesn't say anything about net carbs, so I'm not sure whether the're ok to eat. With the dietary fiber deducted the amount of net carbs is very small. Should I believe the net carb formula or is that just something the Atkins organization came up with after his death to sell more lc stuff. Has anyone tried them on induction, did they cause you to stall.

Yes have flax. Ground flax is the only way to go though as you are not able to digest them suffuciently to get all the nutrients. Start very low though. They can back you up if you eat too many. I eat about a yeaspoon a day and it helps keep me regular. I am guessing you do not have the book(DANDR). Make sure to pick yourself up a copy as it will teach you all about this WOL and how to be successful.

Flax seed meal ground seeds is acceptable as a cure for constipation in rule 12 of chapter 11 and as a fiber supplement in the chapter on fiber too.

yes you subtract the fiber form the carbs and get the net carbs as by law fiber carbs can't be metabolized by humans have have to pass out your butt undigested in any manner.

        Happy low carbing.

I haven't read the whole book, but from what I read, if I remember correctly, it said to sprinkle some flax seeds in a salad(?) to avoid constipation. The book didn't say anything about eating them in large quantities as the flax bread(etc) recepies suggest.

Thanks for the replies all of you, I'll try some of those recepies! :hug
