  • Atkins all the way!!!

I am so excited. I have been 4 weeks on Atkins, and have dumped 25 pounds!! My knees do not hurt, my ankles stopped hurting, I can actually run up my stairs 2 at a time. All of this for 25 pounds out of the 180 I need to lose.
My best friend had biaritric surgery the same day I started Atkins. She was told by her Dr's that obese people only lost weight with surgery, no other way works. I tried to talk her out of it, and she tried to talk me into surgery. Niether of us budged. Now she is recovering from surgery, is living on pudding, and protien drinks. Drinking 8 oz a "meal" to have her Dr. tell her that is too much, she should be taking in only 4 oz per.
I am eating 8 oz sirloin with masked cauliflower, covered with gravy made with the pan drippings ana touch of heavy cream.
She has lost 11 pounds in 4 weeks, I have lost 25. Boy is she MAD!

    Thanks you Dr. Atkins!!

Good for you, that is a wonderful start, are you doing any excercising? I just finished induction a few days ago and am on extended now, I lost 12 lbs in the first 14 days, I hope in two weeks I lose another 13! Wow would that be great, and i know how you feel about your knees and ankles, I had the same problem. And I havent taken a pain pill in like a week. Not even for my headaches!

      Keep up the great work!

woohoo 25 lbs is great! Yeah I would much rather do atkins than surgery any day - its cheaper for one thing, plus with this I know I'll be able to KEEP the weight off.

I'd rather spend the money on meat and veggies anyway

That is so sad that we trust Dr's to tell us the truth but sometimes its only "their" truth. My S_I_L is the one who got me started on Atkins now her dr. is trying to talk her into the surgery. He told her diets just dont work for some people.(She only did Atkins during the week and ate what she wanted on the weekends.)
