  • Help Im Stuck

I started my induction diet on March 14th, and I have lost 18 lbs so far. I have been very diligently following the ANDR guidelines, but in the last 2 weeks I have not dropped a single pound. I have not gained any weight either but I am just stuck.

I have been excersizing regularly doing a one hour cardio workout with weight training every other day at the gym. I have not been cheating on carbs although their may be hidden carbs that are doing me in, but I don't think so. The only thing that I have changed is my water in take is down to about 48 oz. per day instead of the 64 oz that is recommended.

But, is that enough to put me in a stall? I would have thought that with not cheating and adding a good amount of excersize that I would have continued to lose weight.

Any suggestions would really be appreciated.

WATER Go to the FAQ section of this board and read about why you need water to lose weight. you will be chugging it. 64 ounces is the minimum not the maximum.

Bren our admin emeritis back wehn she was JUst good old Bren the Atkinseer busted her stall in 2003 just by upping her water intake and we dubbed her the water queen

What they said, plus wait it out. One day, someone will say something to you and you will realize it noticeable even if you can't read it on the scale. It's weird like that. All of a sudden, you drop 6 pounds after nothing for so long. Good luck

I totally agree with the water thing. Also, you might be building lean muscle mass with all that exercise. How about inches? If you're eating properly, exercising and drinking all your water you'll be successful.

Just to let you know about the water as per DANDR ... drink 64 ounces plus 8 ounces for every 25 pounds you want to lose.

            For example:
If you need to lose 50 pounds you need to drink at least 64 oz + 48 oz(6x8=48 ) which equals 112 oz minimum.

Keep exercising and drink your water and you will see the scale and the tape measure go down.

It's also very normal for your weight loss to slow down after the first 2 weeks of induction. You lost a lot of weight and now it's time for your body to catch up and sort out this huge change you have made.

I'll echo the others... you really need to up your water. Now, put the scale away and don't weigh yourself more than once a week. Get out that tape measure and make friends with it. The scales lie but the tape measure doesn't.

This WOL is not just about losing weight, but gaining a healthy lifestyle. Be patient and true to Atkins and you will get the results that you want. :hug

                Thanks for the suggestions

Thank you everyone for your suggestions.

I immediately increased my water intake today. I managed to drink 100 oz. today. I will work on keeping my water intake at this level for as long as I can.

Its just sometimes I forget about the water part of this WOE.

As always my bulletin board buds come through again! :wave

P.S. - Any other suggestions would still be appreciated

                    Hey Dad!

I'm with everyone else, the water really is crucial, and I absolutely do think it could cause a stall.

On the other hand, I too went through a THREE week "stall" at the beginning of my fourth week of induction. It was REALLY frustrating. I was completely on plan, was drinking my water, and exercising. On the fourth week I lost 1.5 pounds, and 2 days after that was down another SIX!!!
