  • Excuses Excuses!!!

OK, so in March, my computer broke down, then we got the builders in and I claimed I couldn't get myself organised. Between that and our 15 year old going off the rails, and into care, Ive been back on the comfort trail, eating what I liked and drinking wine and cider.

Anyway, two months away, and I've put on 10 lbs, back up to 283lbs in total.
But, I went on line yesterday and booked a holiday for two weeks time. I hope to get that 10 lbs back off, as I tend to lose quickly in the first two weeks, but my main hope is that I can come back from the holiday and start afresh on Atkins, because I know it works for me.

I have popped in a few times just to see how everyone is doing. It has further inspired me to get back on and aim for that goal again. I can't stay this weight for the rest of my life, yoyoing up and down 20 or so lbs a time.
So it is a quick fortnight inspiration, a weeks holiday to ruin it again, then back with a vengence. I can do it

    David

PS. Can I just say that Bowulfs new pics have been a great inspiration, once again. Just shows what determination can do.

I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

A week in Ibiza, (cue the Vengaboys). A bit too old for the clubbing, but hopefully be a chance to relax and get a bit of sun. DW is needing the break more than me.
BTW, I should have included your pics on the inspiring bit. Under 200 and looking good.

Hey dave! Welcome back! To your credit, you only gained 10 pounds in 2 months! That is doable.

I mean, when some people jump off the wagon, it's right into a swimming pool filled with gravy!

You staved off the gravy, and for that I commend you.

Welcome back, Dave! I was about to send the search dogs out. How much longer until your fitness test? I hope you have a great time on your vacation. I know I am chopping at the bit for mine to happen. Look forward to your return.

Forgot all about the fitness test, to be honest. I passed with flying colors.
I managed the aerobic run, (shuttles, 40X15m) in 3 min 17s. that is 13 seconds under the allowed time, and then completed the sprints after that.
That was about 5 weeks ago now.

I had been doing a lot of work at the gym, but changed my focus from length and distance, to speed and power. I started doing less time, about 6 minutes at a time, but greatly increased the speed.

I've been slacking a bit from the gym, but now I am back and focussed again, I can see me getting back into it. I enjoyed it while I did it so just need to get myself organised again.

I've actually got one of those headaches, which I never usually get, from day 2 of induction, but I am trying to increase the water intake to get rid of that. I'm nightshift for the next two nights, so have had to get organised. I found some Trout in Lemon and thyme kebabs, which were reduced at the supermarket and just had them for lunch. MMMMMMmmm.

I'm getting there and will keep logging on and being inspired by you all.

Day 2.5 (Nightshift can do funny things to your body clock)

Anyway, picked at a chicken on nightshift last night and, between the 2 litres of water I had before I went to work I added another 3.5 litres while there. Needless to say I was running to the toilet all night, but it was worth it.
My scale paranoia took over this afternoon after I got up and I found myself 4lbs down already. Good to know it is working and I am sure I can get rid of the 10 lbs before my holiday.
