16 days into induction, no caffeine or aspartame, only 100-140 oz of water per day, plus 1-2 cups of herbal tea to drink. Knew my beloved Diet Coke was not an option, so to celebrate reaching the end of regular induction, bought a 12-pack of Diet Rite, which I also love. Broke a frosty one open, and got ready for a nice, cool, refreshing treat. HATED IT!!! DIdn't even drink the whole thing, probably not even half. Could feel the sugar demons gathering strength, got worried about diving into the bag of the kids' cookies, and went running for my bottled water. A few bottles later, I was back to normal, shaking my head in wonder that I, the Diet Coke Queen, was actually not liking pop anymore. That ends that craving monster taking up too much valuable space in my brain.

I for one think it's fabulous that you have quit. I myself gave up on diet coke. I don't even think about it at all now. I bet it would taste bad if I did drink it. I also gave up coffee. i do think about coffee still and I have broken down and had some before but it triggers major cravings for me so no more. I am happy with my water.

Donjn, you're right, you can still lose lots while drinking diet coke. I know. THe first time I did Atkins, I kept pounding DCs and lost about 20 lbs pretty quickly. But then I ran into such a long stall (I'm talking months!) that I fell off Atkins. I figure this time I'll knock out the caffeine and the aspartame right away to give myself the best shot. I was really scared beginning again thinking it would be so much harder, but so far so good.
Hope you can continue to drink DC!F/39/5'3"/SW-178.5/CW-171/GW-130
